WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

• How often are you participating? – Quarterly!
• Which matches do you request? – Request them all, even if you can’t work them all
each quarter

HOW DO YOU WORK PARIS DATA ?
• Many states work PARIS differently • In some states, it is processed within a system
or manually by workers • There is no one way, no right or wrong way • Your options limited by ingenuity, resources,
policy, or administrative support

OVERWHELMED BY PARIS?
• Previously discussed filtering • What can a small operation do with limited
resources? • What can a large operation do better? • Isolate small discrepancies in PARIS files that
will maximize efforts • Welcome other ideas and best practices

PARIS INTERSTATE MATCH
• Are you matching quarterly? – Send in recipients, even if you don’t actively work – Encourage sister agencies to submit recipients
• Thoughtfully work your matches – Designing your approach so that you aren’t
working over other employees in your agency

WORKING PARIS INTERSTATE SMARTER
• Isolate and work matches from 2+ states • Take a geographical approach
– Work matches from the state with most hits • Border vs. non-border states considerations
– Work states with the greatest distance from yours – Work states with high hits that are not close – Prioritize states in your region

same case

WORKING PARIS INTERSTATE SMARTER
• Isolate matches of school aged children – Position 40-47 for DOB – Easy to verify where children are residing thru
contact with local schools
Caution … Not all schools will provide full disclosure Not all children are enrolled in public school

WORKING PARIS INTERSTATE SMARTER
• Send requests for residency verification and close, if that isn’t submitted – Manually or Systematically
• Duplicate time overlap – Isolate and work longest duplicate time first – Shorter overlaps may indicate one state was slow
to close when the move occurred • Switch priorities around
