You Know You Will Feel Better! Reconciliation Monday, March 26th

Priests throughout the city will be hearing confessions on Monday, March 26th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Many Catholics have stopped going to confession because they had a bad experience with a priest years ago. (Imagine “giving up” on medicinal cures because of poor treatment by one doctor?!) Give God a chance to sacramentally embrace you with his mercy and receive the pardon and peace the world cannot give. When you hear a priest “in persona Christi” [in the person of Christ], speak the words of absolution, it is overwhelmingly comforting. Here is what we ALL long to hear: God, the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of his Son has reconciled the world to himself, and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgive- ness of sins; through the ministry of the Church may God give YOU pardon and peace, and I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son (+) and of the Holy Spirit.

Norms for Lenten Fasting/Abstinence from Meat

FASTING means eating 1 full meal a day, and 2 smaller meals that do not add up to a full meal.

ABSTINENCE FROM MEAT means eating no meat over the age of 14.

1. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are

obligatory days of fasting and abstinence. 2. Obligatory Fasting applies from age 18-59. 3. All Lenten Fridays are obligatory days of abstinence from meat.

LOST PERSONAL ITEMS We have found that when a parishioner leaves an ordinary, personal item (clothing, eyeglasses, keys, etc.) in the pews, they often return very soon to recover it. Therefore, we are asking anyone who comes upon such an item, to please LEAVE IT RIGHT WHERE IT IS. Naturally, if it is something very valuable (a wallet, an ID card, a purse, or a piece of jewelry), please BRING IT TO THE RECTORY for safekeeping. Thank you kindly. For right now, if you have left anything in our church, you can come to see the parish secretary in the rectory. Your item may be there.

Sólo barro, Señor, materia prima, tal como me creaste, húmedo y fresco,

que de mi pobre barro harás un día una obra de arte digna para el Cielo.

creador irá puliendo las aristas y dando vida a lo que estaba muerto.
