Love and peace!!
“The Holy Spirit will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you” Says the Lord.
Today’s gospel continues the final lesson Jesus delivers to His disciples on the night before His death. Like all
great teachers, He ends His lecture by summarizing the most important ideas in His message. At this last supper
with His friends, Jesus focuses on the meaning of His life and mission and promises the coming of the Holy
Spirit to enlighten and to inspire His followers in their understanding of that message.
The message that Jesus preaches is the lesson of love. Love among the Persons of the Blessed Trinity: Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit. Love between Jesus and His friends. Love that unites all of the members of the Church
into one unity until the end of time.
In His final message Jesus tells us that the love that comes from God gives understanding, nurtures faith, and
surrounds us with peace. When the Son of God entered history, the angels joyously announced, “Peace on earth
to people of good will.” When the Son of God resurrected, He transfigured the entire universe and flooded all
of creation with the joyful peace lost in the Garden of Eden. Love restores all things in Christ: the past, the
present, and the future of every human life.
Today on the 6th Sunday of Easter the second reading gives us a poetic vision of the heavenly city, the New
Jerusalem, which is our destination, our future. The New Jerusalem is the home we will inhabit after the final
victory of good over evil. This place of universal love where the twelve tribes of Israel, the twelve apostles,
and redeemed humankind will dwell in the joy and peace of God is our Easter promise.

"El Espíritu Santo les enseñará todo y les recordará todo lo que les he dicho", dice el Señor.
El evangelio de hoy continúa con la última lección que Jesús dio a sus discípulos la noche antes de su muerte.
Como todos los grandes maestros, Él termina su enseñanza resumiendo las ideas más importantes en su mensaje.
En esta última cena con sus amigos, Jesús se enfoca en el significado de su vida y misión y promete la venida
del Espíritu Santo para iluminar e inspirar a sus seguidores en su comprensión de ese mensaje.
El mensaje que Jesús predica es la lección del amor. El amor entre las personas de la Santísima Trinidad: Padre,
Hijo y Espíritu Santo. El amor entre Jesús y sus amigos. Amor que une a todos los miembros de la Iglesia en
una sola unidad hasta el fin de los tiempos.
En su mensaje final, Jesús nos dice que el amor que viene de Dios da entendimiento, nutre la fe y nos rodea de
paz. Cuando el Hijo de Dios entró en la historia, los ángeles anunciaron alegremente: “La paz en la tierra para
la gente de buena voluntad”. Cuando el Hijo de Dios resucitó, transfiguró todo el universo e inundó toda la
creación con la paz alegre que se perdió en el Jardín del Edén. El amor restaura todas las cosas en Cristo: el
pasado, el presente y el futuro de toda vida humana.
Hoy, el sexto domingo de Pascua, la segunda lectura nos da una visión poética de la ciudad celestial, la Nueva
Jerusalén, que es nuestro destino, nuestro futuro. La Nueva Jerusalén es el hogar que habitaremos después de la
victoria final del bien sobre el mal. Este lugar de amor universal donde las doce tribus de Israel, los doce
apóstoles y la humanidad redimida habitarán la alegría y la paz de Dios es nuestra promesa de Pascua.
