BECAS ESTUDIANTILES Las aplicaciones para las Becas María Reina de la Paz

están disponibles en el sitio de internet de la Preparatoria (High School). Estas aplicaciones deben

llenarse y entregarse en la oficina de la consejería de la escuela, antes del 15 de abril. Los estudiantes elegibles

deben de ser miembros activos de la parroquia y participar en el catecismo.

MENSAJE DE LA CONFERENCIA DE OBISPOS EN E.U. “Mientras que nosotros debemos seguir insistiendo en

que las empresas farmacéuticas dejen de usar líneas

celulares derivadas del aborto, dado el sufrimiento que

está causando esta pandemia a nivel mundial, afirmamos

nuevamente que vacunarse puede ser un acto de caridad

que responde al bienestar común. Por lo tanto, si la

persona tiene la capacidad de elegir una vacuna, se debe

elegir entre las vacunas creadas por Pfizer o Moderna, en

vez de la producida por Johnson & Johnson, ya que han

utilizado menos líneas celulares de fetos abortados en su

proceso de investigación y producción.”

INDULGENCIA PLENARIA PARA EL AÑO DE SAN JOSÉ La Penitenciaría Apostólica emite un Decreto que concede indulgencias plenarias para el año de San José proclamado por el Papa Fran-cisco. El año especial durará del 8 de diciembre de 2020 al 8 de diciembre de 2021. CONDICIONES PARA LA INDULGENCIA PLENARIA: La indulgencia plenaria se concede a los fieles en las condiciones habituales (confesión sacramental, comunión eucarística y oración

por las intenciones del Papa) a los cristianos que, con espíritu desprendido de cualquier pecado, participan en estas ocasiones en el Año de San José y modales indicados por la Penitenciaría Apostólica:

La indulgencia plenaria se concede a quienes mediten durante al menos 30 minutos en el Padrenuestro o participen en un Retiro Espiritual de al menos un día que incluya una meditación sobre San José. "St. José, auténtico hombre de fe, nos invita , dice el de-creto, “a redescubrir nuestra relación filial con el Padre, a renovar la fidelidad a la oración, a escuchar y corresponder con profundo discernimiento a la voluntad de Dios ”.

La indulgencia también la pueden obtener quienes, siguiendo el ejemplo de San José, realizarán una obra de misericordia espiritual o corporal. San José “nos anima a redescubrir el valor del silencio, la prudencia y la lealtad en el desempeño de nuestros deberes”, señala el decreto. El rezo del Santo Rosario en las familias y entre los novios es otra forma de obtener indulgencias, para que “todas las familias cristianas se sientan estimuladas a recrear el mismo clima de comunión íntima, amor y oración que había en la Sagrada Familia”.

Un santo universal: Además de estos, la Penitenciaría Apostólica concede una indulgencia plenaria a los fieles que reciten cualquier oración o acto de piedad legítimamente aprobado en honor de San José, por ejemplo, “A ti, oh bendito José” especialmente el “El 19 de marzo, el 1 de mayo, fiesta de la Sagrada Familia de Jesús, María y José, el domingo de San José (según la tradición bizantina) el 19 de cada mes y todos los miércoles, día dedicado a la memoria de el santo según la tradición latina ". El decreto recuerda la universalidad del patrocinio de la Iglesia por parte de San José, señalando que Santa Teresa de Ávila lo reconoció como "un protector de todas las circunstancias de la vida". El Papa San Juan Pablo II también dijo que San José tiene "una relevancia renovada para la Iglesia de nuestro tiempo, en relación con el nuevo milenio cristiano". STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION The Christian community described in Acts under-stood and practiced total stewardship. St. Paul re-ports that the believers did not claim anything as their own, but held everything in common, and distributed to each whatever was needed.

Applications need to be completed and turned in by April 15th, 2021, to the counselor’s office. Eligible students should be active members of the Parish. These scholarships require active participation in the church, including PSR attendance.

PLENARY INDULGENCE FOR YEAR OF ST. JOSEPH The Apostolic Penitentiary issues a Decree granting plenary

indulgences for the year of St. Joseph proclaimed by Pope Francis

on Tuesday. The special year will last from 8 December 2020 to

8 December 2021.

CONDITIONS FOR THE PLENARY INDULGENCE:

The plenary indulgence is granted to the faithful under the usual

conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic Communion, and

prayer for the Pope’s intentions) to Christians who, with a spirit

detached from any sin, participate in the Year of St. Joseph on

these occasions and manners indicated by the Apostolic Peniten-

tiary:

The plenary indulgence is granted to those who will meditate

for at least 30 minutes on the Lord’s Prayer, or take part in a

Spiritual Retreat of at least one day that includes a meditation

on St. Joseph. “St. Joseph, an authentic man of faith, invites

us”, the decree reads, “to rediscover our filial relationship with

the Father, to renew fidelity to prayer, to listen and correspond

with profound discernment to God’s will.”

The indulgence can also be obtained by those who, following

St. Joseph’s example, will perform a spiritual or corporal work

of mercy. St. Joseph “encourages us to rediscover the value of

silence, prudence and loyalty in carrying out our duties,” the

decree notes. The recitation of the Holy Rosary in families and

among engaged couples is another way of obtaining indulgenc-

es, in order that “all Christian families may be stimulated to

recreate the same atmosphere of intimate communion, love

and prayer that was in the Holy Family.” A universal saint: In addition to these, the Apostolic Penitentiary grants a plenary indulgence to the faithful who will recite any legiti-mately approved prayer or act of piety in honor of St. Joseph, for example, “To you, O blessed Joseph” especially on “19 March, on 1 May, the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, on St. Joseph’s Sunday (according to the Byzantine tradition) on the 19th of each month and every Wednesday, a day dedicated to the memory of the saint according to the Latin tradition.” The decree recalls the universality of St. Joseph’s patronage of the Church, noting that St. Teresa of Ávila recognized him as "a pro-tector for all the circumstances of life". Pope St. John Paul II also said that St. Joseph has “a renewed relevance for the Church of our time, in relation to the new Christian millennium.” For the sick: Amid the ongoing Covid-19 health crisis, the gift of the plenary indulgence is also extended to the sick, the elderly, the dying and all those who for legitimate reasons are unable to leave their homes. They too can obtain the plenary indulgences if they are detached from any sin and have the intention of fulfilling, as soon as possible, the three usual conditions and recite an act of pie-ty in honor of St. Joseph, offering to God the pains and hardships of their lives.

A MESSAGE FROM THE U.S.

Conference of Bishops- “While we should continue to

insist that pharmaceutical companies stop using abortion

derived cell lines, given the world-wide suffering that this

pandemic is causing, we affirm again that being vaccinat-

ed can be an act of charity that serves the common good.

Therefore, if one has the ability to choose a vaccine, Pfizer

or Moderna’s vaccines should be chosen over Johnson &

Johnson’s, as it is the vaccine with the least connection to

abortion-derived cell lines.”
