GROWING IN GRACE: Who Are You St. Joseph? Welcome to the Year of St. Joseph! Pope Francis has declared the Year of St. Joseph from December 8, 2020, to December 8, 2021. St. Joseph is the Patron Saint of fathers, of crafters, of the dying, of immigrants, of workers, and many others. He is also known as the Protector of the Universal Church and the terror of demons! They flee when we invoke St. Joseph. Next to the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph is the most powerful intercessor we have in Heaven. If you are unfamiliar with St. Joseph, there are many books written about him and the Bi-ble is a great place to begin learning about him. The Scriptures reveal certain things about St. Joseph. He belonged to the line of David. He was a just man who did as the angel commanded (Mathew 1-2). The Scriptures, however, don’t tell us how old he was, what he said or what he looked like. By reading Matthew and Luke’s Gospels we know this about St. Joseph: he loved God and he loved his family. St. Joseph presented the child Jesus in the temple and named Him as the angel instructed: “you are to name him Jesus” (Matthew 1:21). Then later we read: “The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, ‘Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt and stay there until I tell you. Herod is go-ing to search for the child to destroy him.’ Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt” (Matthew 2:13-14). St. Joseph’s devotion and obedience to God is second only to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He listened to God and dedicated his life to loving and protecting Jesus and Mary without question or hesitation. St. Joseph was a good Jewish father who taught Jesus how to pray, how to work, and how to be a man. He had profound faith and trust in God, and every day he lived surrounded by Grace. Fr. Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen, O.C.D. writes in his book Divine Intimacy, “As soon as Jesus was born, He was placed in St. Joseph’s arms and entrusted to his care; later He would grow in his sight, be fed at his table and sleep under his roof.” What a glorious life this humble man of Nazareth must have lived! St. Joseph, pray for us!

CRECIENDO EN GRACIA:¿Quién eres San José? ¡Bienvenido al Año de San José! El Papa Francisco ha declarado el Año de San José del 8 de diciembre de 2020 al 8 de diciembre de 2021. St. José es el Santo Patron de los padres, de los artesanos, de los moribundos, de los inmigrantes, de los trabajadores y de muchos otros. También es conocido como el Protector de la Iglesia Universal y el terror de los de-monios! Huyen cuando invocamos a San José. Junto a la Santísima Virgen María, San José es el intercesor más poderoso que tenemos en el Cielo. Si usted no esta familiarizado con San José, hay muchos libros escritos sobre él y la Biblia es un gran lugar para comenzar a aprender acerca de él. Las Escrituras revelan ciertas cosas acerca de San José. Pertenecía a la línea de David.Fue un hombre justo que hizo lo que el ángel mandó (Mathew 1-2). Las Escrituras, sin embargo, no nos dicen cuántos años tenía, qué dijo o cómo era. Leyendo Mateo y Los Evangelios de Lucas lo que sabemos acerca de San José: amó a Dios y amó a su familia. Tenía una profunda fe y confianza en Dios, y todos los días vivía rodeado de Gracia. P. Gabriel de Santa María Magdalena, O.C.D. escribe en su libro Intimidad Divina, "Como tan pronto como Jesús nació, fue puesto en los brazos de San José y confiado a su cuidado; más tarde el veria como crecia, como era alimentado en su mesa y dormir bajo su techo. ¡Qué vida tan gloriosa la de este humilde hombre de ¡Nazaret que debe haber vivido! ¡San José, ruega por nosotros!

The Holy Cross Food Pantry provided food for 18 families in February. The pantry is still very well stocked thanks to your generous donations, but we are in need of corn muffin mix and long pasta ( spaghetti, linguini, fettuccini, etc.) Thank you so much for your continued suport. Catholic Charities Fort Worth. Catholic Charities is unable to accept any new applica-

tions for financial assistance at this time. Both COVID‐19 and Winter Storm Uri have created a widespread need in our communities, and there are thousands already on their waitlist. To illustrate how truly dire the need is, it would take $4.2 million to serve their existing clients alone, not counting those who reached out for the first time in the aftermath of the snowstorms in North Texas. Para ilustrar cuan verdaderamente urgente es la nesecidad, se nesecitaran $4.2 millones para attender solamente a sus clien-tes existentes, sin contar aquellos que se acercaron por primera vez despues de las tormenta de nieve en el Norte de Texas. March 14, 2021 4th Sunday of Lent “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son…” - John 3:16 Of all the wonderful gifts that God has given to us, the gift of His own Son is truly the greatest. How can we ever thank God for a gift like that? God does not ask us to sacrifice our own precious firstborn, but He does ask that we are grateful and generous with our God-given gifts. That we nur-ture and develop our gifts, and in gratitude, gener-ously give back with increase our time in prayer, our talent in charitable works and our treasure to support the mission and ministry of our parish and greater Church.

Friday Lenten Fish Fry Knights of Columbus Council 8493 will be cooking Fried Fish Dinners on Fridays during Lent. Dinners will be TAKE OUT ONLY and served from 5 till 7 pm. Dinners will include Fried Fish, Cole Slaw, French Fries, Hush Puppies, and Dessert. Suggested donations of $10 for Adult, $8 for Seniors, $6 for Children under 12 and $30 for family meals (2 adult plates and 2 or more child plates). ALL HEALTH MEASURES WILL BE TAKEN. CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Sunday Mass Live Streamed, for Facebook live Due to the Coronavirus forcing so many to stay home, Holy Cross will live stream on Saturdays 5pm English, and Sundays 1 pm Spanish, and Monday to Friday Daily Mass at 8:30am.
