Recently a parishioner sent me this reflection and I liked it…..and thought it a good piece of writing, by an unknown author, to share with you this weekend:
A tendency to think and act spontaneously, rather than from fears based on past
experience.
An unmistakable ability to enjoy each and every moment.
A loss of interest in judging others.
A loss of interest in judging self.
A loss of interest in conflict.
A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
A loss of the ability to worry.
Frequent overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
Contented feelings of connectedness with others and with nature.
Frequent attacks of smiling through the heart
Increasing susceptibility to love extended by others, as well as the uncontrollable
urge to extend it.
An increasing tendency to let things happen, rather than to manipulate them and
make them happen.
May the Lord bless each of us this week as we seek the peace of being disciples of Je-sus, a peace that the world cannot give. Let us pray for one another.

To O u r Wo n d e r f u l Pa r i s h i o n e r s : THANK YOU!
Thank you for your kind and generous support, especially during the past few months. We realize these are strange and difficult times, filled with uncertainty. We appreciate your continued tithing and are grateful for the faith you have in your parish, and for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. It is because of you that we are able to continue “keeping the lights on” and to provide the faith services needed to those in our commu-nity, and assist with those who need some help during these trying times. May God bless you abundantly for your kindness, and may He keep you in His care.

St. Timothy’s Knights of Columbus and our Food Pantry would like to thank you for all your generosity and support in making our second “Drive Through Food Drive” a huge success, we couldn’t of done it without you. We now have enough food to last about 6-7 weeks in supporting those who are struggling during theses uncertain times. The KofC will be putting together more food drives in the future.

A r e yo u a L i c e n s e d M e n ta l H e a lt h P ro f e s s i o n a l ? Join the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange Mental Health Referral Network. The Office of Pastoral Care is looking for more local clinicians who would like to support Catholic families and individuals seeking mental health care that aligns with and respects our Catholic beliefs and values. We are especially in need of therapists who can provide services in Spanish or Vietnam-ese. If you are interested in joining or for more information about this program, please contact Linda Ji, Director of Office of Pastoral Care for Families in All Stages at [email protected] or call 714-282-4203.
A R e f l e c t i o n o n N o s i n e s s “Our Lord understands and has compassion on those of us who make themselves so busy try-ing to pry into what is none of our business. I am sure that if we knew how pleasing it would be to God, not to mention how much easier it would be on ourselves, we would let go of this nosiness.” --Julian of Norwich Nosiness is not a good habit to get into. It annoys our friends and neighbors and also an-noys us when we see it in others. What Julian (in 14th century England) is describing, however, is our feeble attempts to read God’s mind (and sometimes to give him a piece of ours!). Now the human intellect is truly a great gift, but it would be easier for a termite to understand Ein-stein’s theory of relativity. I think I believe this, but still am often tempted to confront God with a bucketful of “how come’s” and “why me’s. Why do the innocent suffer? Why are there floods and earthquakes? Why why why? Some-times I feel like the frustrated person in the comical song who demands, “Put Mrs. God on the phone!” The Book of Job is a beautiful part of the Old Testament and worth reading, but don’t expect to find a rational explanation for the problem of evil there. Nosiness doesn’t work. The mystery does not go away, although Job, who had plen-ty to complain about, eventually finds peace, joy and reconciliation in God’s love. Not with the head but with the heart. In chapter 16 of Mat-thew’s Gospel, Jesus first commends Peter for his faith because “flesh and blood has not re-vealed [my divinity] to you, but my heavenly Fa-ther,” and then in the same chapter scolds Peter severely for “thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.” Richard Rohr puts it this way: “We know God by loving God, by trusting God, and placing our hopes in God. We cannot really ‘think’ God.” The cure for nosiness is not a set of scientific proofs, but trust in God’s love.
