SHORT COURSES
With time being a consideration for anyone wishing to develop their subject knowledge, or simply start a new hobby whilst fitting in with the pressures of daily life, the College offers a range of short and one-day introduction courses at various venues.
GCSES
GCSEs in English and Maths are now accepted as a prerequisite for higher level education or to apply for many occupations. If you did not achieve an A–C or grade 4 or above (grading change in 2017) the first time round or have not had the opportunity to study for English or Maths GCSEs before, then we can help. Many people may be eligible for government funding, meaning that you will not pay for your course.
ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION
The College runs a range of Access to Higher Education programmes, specifically designed to support and enable individuals who do not have the correct qualifications to enter degree level study at university. Turn to page 10 for more information.
PART TIME COURSES
This course guide features a wide range of Part Time courses developed to fit around your work and other commitments. Run by subject experts, the courses vary in length and span differing levels, enabling a wide range of people to access and enjoy lifelong learning.
HIGHER EDUCATION

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
FEES
For most courses in this guide all fees are payable at the time of enrolment. The tuition fee and qualification fee (where relevant) is combined into an overall fee.
TUITION AND QUALIFICATION FEE
The tuition fee covers the cost of delivering the course. The qualification fee is collected by the College and passed on to the awarding body for your qualification. It covers examination, assessment and certification costs.
PROFESSIONAL BODY MEMBERSHIP
Courses leading to a professional qualification require students to register with the professional body. Any costs of this nature are payable directly to the professional body by the student and will be discussed at the start of the course.
FEES PAID BY AN EMPLOYER OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS
A learner may have made an agreement for course and other fees to be paid by their employer. This is an agreement made between those two parties. Where it has been confirmed as part of the enrolment process that the fees for the learner are to be paid by a sponsor or an employer, then formal and written confirmation of this must be submitted to the College. If you require the Fee Authorisation Form email [email protected] to request a copy.
The College must receive the signed fee authorisation form at the point of enrolment, otherwise the learner will be asked to pay the full fees due. It is also important to note that if you (as the student) withdraws from the course, the employer will still be responsible for payment of the course fees due.
OVERSEAS
Have you lived outside of the European Economic Area at any time during the last three years? If so, the UK Government may classify you as an overseas student and special fees apply. Please contact our Admissions Team on 023 9378 9999 ext. 5041 for further details.

APPRENTICESHIPS Almost anyone aged 16 or more can be an apprentice. Even adults with a degree can now retrain in a subject that is significantly different to their degree. The focus of an Apprenticeship is to develop industry specific skills. It is about the skills you need to learn, not the skills you already have. If you are looking for a Part Time qualification and have the support of an employer, then a Higher Level Apprenticeship could be a viable option. For more information, please contact our Apprenticeships Department on 023 9387 9999 or [email protected]
