Now in its third year, The Business of Events (TBOE) is a not for profit cross sector initiative designed to support stronger global event industry engagement for everyone involved in The Business of Events.

TBOE recognises the need for an impartial and independent platform to support the work of the various stakeholders in both the UK and international event industry to ensure that there is a body providing the sharing of knowledge, best practice and an opportunity for open debate and discussion.

In partnership with both UK & international associations, corporations and government bodies, TBOE has been established as both an independent forum provider as well as an independent and impartial platform to support talent and skills development.

TBOE’s Forums in London, Scotland, Wales and Barcelona during 2019, will bring together leading players and influencers from across the UK and global Business Events market with a programme of content designed to inform, engage and challenge. These events provide the opportunity to discuss and debate barriers and solutions for growth and share research and market insights in order to increase international competitiveness within the global events industry.

TBOE operates with the support of the Business Visits & Events Partnership, the Department of Digital, Culture Media and Sport and the UK Events Industry Board, PCMA and the All Party Parliamentary Group for the UK Events Industry and exists with the generous support of its supporters and partners.

Created in partnership with IBTM, the Barcelona Convention Bureau and PCMA, the first ever Global Policy & Practice Forum will bring together global destinations, policy makers and key stakeholders from across the Business Events sector to discuss key issues and encourage governments to further support and engage with the Business Events community.

This first event will be held in Barcelona, during IBTM World, at the newly opened Hotel Seventy and will focus on the key sector area of Medical and Healthcare, which we know will have significant appeal across our audience.

Following the event, we will create a joint White Paper, which destinations can use to further inform local governments on the value and importance of the Business Events sector.

The Global Policy & Practice Forum is also supported by ICCA and the Joint Meetings Industry Council.
