St. Polycarp parishioners should have received information in the mail regarding the proposed plans and the Planning Study survey along with a return envelope. The mailing also included instructions on how to complete the survey online, should you prefer this method of responding. If you did not receive this information in the mail, there are extra surveys in both English and Spanish in the back of the church, along with instructions on how to complete the online survey. As we begin the Advent season…

“The Name of the Lord cometh from afar….I look from afar, and behold I see the power of God coming…Go out to meet Him, and say, ‘Tell us if You are He who shall rule…’” “Come, let us adore the King, the Lord who is coming” (from the Roman Breviary).

This coming was expected for long ages; it was foretold by the prophets, and desired by all the just who were not granted to se its dawn. The Church commemorates and renews this expectation with each recurring Advent, expressing this longing to the Savior who is to come. The desire of old was sustained solely by hope, but it is now a confident desire, founded on the consoling reality of the Redemption already accomplished. Although historically completed twenty centuries ago, this longing should be actualized daily, renewed in ever deeper and fuller reality in every Christian soul. The spirit of the Advent liturgy, commemorating the age-long expectation of the Redeemer, will prepare us to celebrate the mystery of the Word made Flesh by arousing in each one of us an intimate, personal expectation of the renewed coming of Christ to our soul. This coming is accomplished by grace; to the degree in which grace develops and natures in us, it becomes more copious, more penetrating, until it transforms the soul into an alter Christus. Advent is a season of waiting and of fervent longing for the Redeemer: “Drop down dew, ye heavens, and let the clouds rain the Just One!” (Roman Breviary).

FAITH FORMATION PARENT CLASSES Our bilingual parents are invited to stay for prayer, fellowship and Bible study in room 18 while the students are in class on Saturdays, Mondays and Tuesdays.

Casino trips are Family Support Center's only fundraisers. These funds, and donations from the community, are our only source of income. FSC distributes food to those in need every Monday and Wednesday. We also help with financial aid, on a limited basis, for those who need emergency assistance. We need your help to continue in this ministry: Last year we distributed food to over 16,000 individuals! Please, if you are able, consider joining us on a trip. You will have a good time and, at the same time, be performing a Corporal work of Mercy. We appreciate your consideration!

Giáo xứ Thánh Polycarp may mắn có nhiều nền văn hóa và sự sống động của các chương trình mục vụ khác nhau của các cộng đồng giáo dân, điều này đem đến một làn gió thánh thiện chào đón mọi người, đặc biệt là giới trẻ, là những người mong muốn có một đời sống đạo sâu xa hơn với Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Như là những môn đệ của Chúa, chúng ta giúp cho những người nghèo đói, đây là cuộc hành trình đức tin dành cho các anh chị em chúng ta trên con đường sống đạo mới với niềm hy vọng và lòng can đảm, trong một công việc bác ái an toàn và vui vẻ.

ngày lễ kính Đức Mẹ tại Giáo xứ trong Bản tin của Giáo xứ (buletin) và chương trình lễ kính Đức Mẹ bằng tiếng Việt tại các Cộng đoàn Việt nam trong Giáo phận tại tờ Hiệp thông. 8- Chương trình Giải tội Mùa Vọng của Giáo xứ.- Giáo xứ có một buổi giải tội Mùa Vọng tập thể cho các sắc dân trong Giáo xứ vào lúc 7giờ tối Thứ Năm ngày 14 tháng 12 năm 2017. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự để giải hòa vời Thiên Chúa và anh chị em. Xin lưu ý: vì trong Mùa Vọng, các Linh mục trong Giáo xứ sẽ đến các Giáo xứ trong hạt để giải tội cho Giáo dân nên các tối Thứ Hai, Giáo xứ không có giờ giải tôi. Riêng giờ giải tội chiều Thứ Bảy vẫn diễn ra bình thường. 9- Buổi tĩnh tâm cho Hội Đồng Mục Vụ của Cộng đoàn.- Hội đồng Mục Vụ của Cộng đoàn sẽ có một buổi tịnh tâm vào Chúa Nhật ngày 17 tháng 12 năm 2017, từ 9giờ sáng đến 2giờ chiều tại Hội trường Giáo xứ. Buổi tĩnh tâm sẽ do cha Giuse Đặng Văn Chín, cựu tuyên úy trong lực lượng Hải Quân Hoa kỳ hướng dẫn và giảng thuyết. Kính mời quí thành viên trong Hội đồng Mục Vụ của Cộng đoàn sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. 10- Cộng đoàn thực hiện 1000 cuốn lịch để tạng giáo dân trong Cộng đoàn.- Cũng như các năm trước, Ban Thường Vụ của Cộng đoàn đã thực hiện 1,000 cuốn lịch Công giáo năm 2018 để gởi đến mỗi gia đình trong Cộng đoàn. Tờ lịch này sẽ được phát hành vào 2ngày Thứ Bảy và Chúa Nhật ngày 30 và 31 tháng 12 năm 2017. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa đón nhận để theo dõi các sinh hoạt của Giáo hội trong năm 2018. 11- Giáo xứ dụ trù thay kiếng màu các cửa sổ trong Thánh đường.- Giáo xứ đang kêu gọi Giáo dân trong Giáo xứ đóng góp tài chánh đễ thực hiện thay kiếng màu các cửa sổ trong Thánh đường. Phí tổn cho một cửa sổ từ 7,000 đến 9,000 US Dollars, tùy theo hình ảnh của kiếng màu gắn vào cửa. Cộng đoàn Việt nam dự trù sẽ đóng góp 1cửa sổ với hình Thánh Anrê Dũng Lạc Tử Đạo Việt Nam, với chi phí là 9,000 US Dollars. Xin các Hội đoàn – Đoàn Thể và các Ban trong Công đoàn cố gắng hy sinh đóng góp tài chánh cho Ban Thường Vụ đúc kết cho đủ số tài chánh và chuyển về Giáo xứ để thực hiện cửa theo yêu cầu của Cộng đoàn. 12- Thực hiện dự án Trung Tâm Sinh Hoạt của Giáo xứ.- Giáo xứ đã gởi về mỗi gia đình trong Giáo xứ một bao thư để tham khảo về dự án xây dựng Trung Tâm Sinh Hoạt của Giáo xứ bằng tiếng Anh. Ngoài ra Giáo xứ cũng có để sẵn bản tham khảo ý kiến của Giáo dân cho dự án này tại cuối Thánh đường (có bản tiếng Việt). Xin Cộng đoàn dân Chúa tích cực tham gia, cố gắng đọc và tìm hiểu về dự án và trả lời những câu hỏi cùng ý kiến, gởi về Văn phòng Giáo xứ để đúc kết trước khi có kế hoạch thực hiện dự án. Rất mong toàn thể Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa nhiệt liệt hưởng ứng. Có thể trả lời tham khảo trên trang mạng của Giáo xứ.

THÔNG BÁO CỘNG ĐOÀN.

1- Giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng.- Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa lưu ý: Giáo xứ có giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng từ 3giờ30 đến 5giờ vào mỗi chiều Thứ Bảy hằng tuần. Xin kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng đến tham dự giờ chầu Thánh Thể nêu trên. 2- Giờ lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót của Giáo xứ.- Sau Thánh lễ 8giờ30 sáng từ Thứ Hai đến Thứ Bảy trong tuần, Giáo xứ có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Anh, và vào lúc 3giờ chiều mỗi ngày, Cộng đoàn có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Việt tại Thánh đường (hoặc tại Đài Đức Mẹ). Riêng chiều Thứ Sáu có thêm khấn Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng tham dự. 3- Thực hiện Máng Cỏ ngoài trời.- Cộng đoàn sẽ thực hiện Máng Cỏ ngoài trời vào 2 ngày Thứ Bảy và Chúa Nhật 2 và 3 tháng 12 năm 2017, từ 8giờ sáng đến 4giờ chiều. Xin quí Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa, nhất là các bạn trẻ đến phụ giúp cho công tác mau hoàn tất. 4- Cộng đoàn triển khai công tác làm dưa món.- Cộng đoàn sẽ bắt đầu triển khai công tác làm dưa món bán Tết tại Hôi trường để gây quĩ yểm trợ Giáo xứ. Công việc bắt đầu lúc 9giờ sáng Thứ Bảy ngày 2 tháng 12 năm 2017, và chỉ thực hiện trong một ngày. Công tác cần rất nhiều nhân lực phụ giúp. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng đếm góp mặt để công tác đạt kết quả mong muốn. 5- Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm và Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công Giáo sinh hoạt.- Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm và Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công Giáo của Cộng đoàn sẽ có buổi sinh hoạt hằng tháng vào lúc 2giờ chiều Chúa Nhật ngày 3 tháng 12 năm 2017 tại phòng họp thường lệ. Kính mời quí Đoàn viên và Hội viên đến tham dự đông đủ. 6- Tĩnh Tâm Mùa Vọng.- Cộng đoàn sẽ tổ chức 2 tối tĩnh tâm Mùa Vọng vào lúc 7giờ tối các ngày Thứ Ba ngày 5 và Thứ Tư ngày 6 tháng 12 năm 2017 tại Thánh đường, do Cha Phaolô Nguyễn Hoài Chương hướng dẫn và giảng thuyết với chủ đề “Hãy dọn sẵn con đường của Đức Chúa sửa lối cho thẳng để Người đi”. Mỗi buổi tĩnh tâm đều kết thúc bằng Thánh lễ. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian than dự. 7- Chương trình lễ Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội.- Ngày 8 tháng 12 là ngày lễ kính Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội, bổ mạng của Giáo Hội Hoa kỳ, lễ trọng và buộc. Chương trình lễ tiếng Việt của Cộng đoàn như sau: Thứ Năm ngày 7 tháng 12 năm 2017, Cộng đoàn sẽ cử hành Lễ Vọng kính Đức Mẹ vào lúc 8giờ tối. Ca đoàn Dũng Lạc, hai nhóm Thứ Bảy và Chúa Nhật phụ trách phần Thánh ca. Thứ Sáu ngày 8 tháng 12 năm 2017, Cộng đoàn có cử hành Thánh lễ kính Đức Mẹ (lễ chính ngày) vào lúc 8giờ tối. Ca đoàn Thánh Thâm phụ trách phần Thánh ca. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. Văn phòng Hội Bảo Trợ Gia Đình CHỈ nhận các giỏ quà vào các thứ Ba ngày 28 tháng 11, ngày 5 tháng 12, và ngày 12 tháng 12 từ 9:30 giờ sáng đến 12 giờ trưa.
