- 3. Inner SignificanceThe theme of this bhajan is Mystery.
- 4. Observation 1: The Lines 1,3 are about the personality . The lines 2,4 are about the name associatedwith the personality.
- 5. Observation 2: Pathitha Pavana in sanskrit means the holy one who hasdescended. So the first line says the holy one who has descendedand the one who was the Lord of Parthipuri ! . Have you ever heard of a sanyasi or a hermit ,who livedlike a king ? Swami came down as a holy one but livedlike a King. If we tell the future generation of people that the globalSai organization, the super speciality hospitals, thewater projects, the university and schools and all othermassive projects were executed by the sheer presenceof a sanyasi or a hermit, would anyone believe us ? They would think of it as a mystery !
- 6. Observation 3: The same aspect is brought out in the third lineas well. Danava Bhanjana ...Dasarathanandana . This line says the one who killed demons was amere boy / a teenager ( referring to the incidentassociated with sage Vishwamithra ) and the sonof Dasaratha.Would anyone believe that a mere boy in histeenage had the audacity to kill demons ? Just as none would believe a sanyasi can buildglobal organizations, a boy cannot kill demons !
- 7. Observation 4: While lines 1 and 3 bring out the mysteryassociated with the form, the lines 2 and 4 bringout the mystery associated with the name. Its says the name is holy, it can ferry you acrossand can wipe out sins. Doesnt this sound ridiculous at first ? How canwe wipe away our sins by chanting a name? Yet thats the mystery associated with the Lordsname. Just chanting it WILL wipe away sins.
- 8. Observation 5: Together this bhajan brings out the mysteryassociated with the two avatars : Rama andSathya Sai. The form is mysterious and as mysterious as theform is the name. When singing this bhajan the devotees couldexpress a sense of mystery that they feel aboutthe name and form of Swami !
