I am writing to you with regards to Paul Cole. I have had the pleasure of working with Paul for a

great number of years and am convinced that he is one of the best building engineers in the city

of Portland.

Paul has many strengths that qualify him in this trade:

1. He is very skilled as a communicator, not only with his peers and superiors, but more

importantly with the tenants in the buildings he controls. We normally get feedback from

tenants regarding their building engineers, and the feedback we get on Paul is always

positive.

2. He is proactive in always asking the right questions. To us, this means we’re dealing

with someone who knows the mechanical systems and is making sure that we are doing

the right thing for building ownership.

3. He is always looking out for the best interests of the building ownership. In numerous

conversations and meetings with Paul, he is always looking for options based on the

current situation in a building, which we all know changes from year to year. If there is

money in the budget and the ownership wants to explore the best options, Paul is on top

of it. Or, if the money is tight and the ownership wants to explore lowest cost and/or

temporary options, Paul is also right on top of it.

4. All of our technicians enjoy working with Paul. To me, that says a lot. Technicians in

our business can tend to be “prima donnas”, and Paul knows exactly how to get the best

results out of them.

5. Paul has a great overall understanding of various building systems. This qualifies him to

work in almost any type of building - new, old, large, small, office, special use, etc.
