-Shiprecruitment/interactionswithcrew(U.Shusterisworkingonsuchadocument-ReachouttoICOS(Oceans)canassistwithhowtovideos-Providea"howto"manualforUWpCO2reductionanduseofdatareductionsoftware.Meetingsummary:HardwareMostgroupsintheNOAASOOP-CO2effortuseGOunderwaypCO2systems.Thesystemshaveundergonechangesinhardwareandoperatingsystemsovertimethathampersinteroperabilityandassistanceintroubleshooting.Severalsystemshavecustomizedadd-onstoaddressuniquecustomfeaturesandinterfaces.R.Cook(GO)mentionedthatinterfaceissuesarethe#1challengethatcustomershave.MajorchangesinhardwarehavebeenaddingFluketemperaturesensors,additional/betterpressuresensors,andupgradestotheGOboardcontrollingchillerandpumps.DifferentgroupsusedifferentLI-CORCO2analyzers.TheLI-6262istheunitofchoicebutisnotmadeanymore.TheLI-7000showsverygoodperformanceinshore-basedlaboratoriesbutexperiencesincreasednoiseduetomotion,anditdoesnothaveoptiontoincludeexternalpressuresensor.TheLI-840isalowcostunitthatworkswellbutneedsanindependentpressuresensorastheinternalsensordoesnotmeetspecificationsforaccuratedata.Whileunitsoverallfunctionwellatseathereareseveralpartsthathavebeenproblematic.Thefollowingissueswerementionedbyparticipants:TheEPSCOwaterdistributionvalveispronetoleakduetothelargeorificesneededforthehighflowthroughsystem.Theflowmeteronthesecondaryequilibratorventispronetofailure,likelyduetomoisture.ThechillercanfailpossiblyduetomoistureenteringthePeltierunit.Itwasrecommendedtoimproveeaseofreplacementthroughbetteraccessandwiringconnectors.Thedeckboxcontainingbarometricpressuresensorandiridiumtransmissionisnotusedonmanyships,insteadtheshipprovideddatatransmissionandpressuresensorsareused.Theship'spressuregaugesareoftencalibratedaspartofWMO-VOSoperations.TheIridiumtransmitterhasbeenproblematic.AnewunitwithsmallerformfactorandbettertransmitterhasbeenproducedatAOML.Itwasdecidedatthemeetingthatroutinemaintenanceandreplacementschedulesneedtobeinstitutedfor:-Replacinginternalandexternaldesiccant(magnesiumperchlorate)andCO2scrubberMalcosorb®[sodium/calciumhydroxide]intheIRanalyzers-ReplacingNafion®dryingtubetubes-ReplacingAcrodisc®filters-ReplacingorcleaninganddryingAirline-Cleaningunderwaywaterline.ThewassomediscussionofthemeritofthisProductsupportbyGOisfoundlackingbyseveralinvestigators.Moreover,replacementpartsaredeemedexpensiveornotcompatiblewiththesystem
