Automotive technology is an exciting industry that specializes in the maintenance and repair of cars, trucks, and large and small engines. Careers in automotive technology include being a mechanic, an automotive service technician or systems analyst, or owning your own repair shop. Is a career in automotive technology right for you? - Are you good at problem solving? - Have you always been interested in cars and trucks? - Do you have a mechanical mind that is good at figuring out how things work? - Are you good at working with your hands, and comfortable with computers? - Do you like solving challenging problems using hands-on strategies? - Are you interested in having skills that can travel with you anywhere? - Do you want to work in a high-tech environment? If you answered “yes” to these questions, you should consider enrolling in the automotive tech- nology program at the new Providence Career and Technical High School. This new school is one of New England’s finest technical high schools, offering students a blend of the best of a traditional high school and state-of-the-art training in an automotive lab. When you graduate from the automotive technology program, you will receive both a high school diploma and certification in automotive technology.
