class devices. They have been used successfully as Human Machine interfaces in a wide range

of applications in every industry for many years. The compact and versatile SIMATIC HMI Panels

offer maximum functionality and can be integrated perfectly into any production and automation

system.

If a small display is adequate or the process is only to be controlled via keys, the compact KP300 Basic mono PN is the perfect choice. It has 10 freely con-figurable function keys that are structured and oper-ated like a cell phone. The high-resolution 3” display offers LED backlighting that can be set as required to white, green, red or yellow and can thus be assigned to individual alarms. This also enables the panel to be used as an alternative to an alarm indicator lamp, for instance. As further key device of the Basic Panels, the KP400 Basic color PN features a high-resolution 4‘‘ wide-screen color display and a membrane keyboard with eight tactile keys. The numerical keypad offers an in-novative, alphanumerical entry mechanism known from cell phones. Also equipped with the modern, high-resolution 4-inch wide-screen color display, the KTP400 Basic color PN represents the getting-started device for fully graphical applications. As known from the SIMATIC �MI Basic Panels, operation is realized via the touch-screen and four tactile keys. Functional or industry-specific expansions of the runtime software are available in the form of WinCC options. Some options are already integrated as standard functions in the HMI devices of various performance classes. Others can only run in combination with the corresponding Runtime basic software.

Software updates

With the Software Update Service (SUS), all released versionsof your SIMATIC software are automatically delivered directlyto you – i.e. all upgrades and service packs. Thus it is ensuredthat your software is always up-to-date.

Hardware support packages for the configuration of newSIMATIC HMI devices, as well as service packs, can be downloadedfree of charge from the Internet.

Operating Systems

• Saves logistics costs Once it is ordered, the Software Update Service is automatically renewed every year.• Reduces costs The service pays for itself after the first update as it costs less than an individually ordered update.• Provides an overview of costs Software expenditures can be accounted for early in the budgeting process and they are easier to write off.

Purchase conditions

The Software Update Service is simply ordered like a product.An SUS is required for each installed software license. The SUSis valid for 12 months from the date of order and is automaticallyextended by a further year. It can be canceled threemonths prior to expiration. A prerequisite is the purchase ofthe current software version.
