The ultimate objective of pearltrees is to build the community of editors of the Web. Thanks to pearltrees, web users will organize, give a meaning and share their content with other users. By becoming collectively editors, the community will give itself the capabilities to edit the Web at the scale of the Web

Premiers éléments sur l’apport de Pearltrees à sa communauté

L’édition du Web est polysémique: en proposant à chacun de devenir éditeur, nous lui proposons au fond de créer son propre Web et de lui donner le sens qu’il lui souhaite: Web de réflexion et d’organisation, Web de construction, Web social ou Web ludique… Le sens d’une édition dépend par nature du sens que lui donne un éditeur

Pour résumer Pearltrees, on pourrait dire: « construisez votre propre Web et construisez collectivement le Web »

• Révéler la richesse de ses surfs et de ses choix quotidiens

• Révéler son propre Web, lui donner un sens nouveau, lui faire raconter ses propres histoires

• Partager son Web pour enrichir les parcours et les Webs des autres

• Collecter, composer, réordonner, croiser, discuter les Webs des autres

• Se déplacer sur le Web collectif, le Web issu de la contribution de chacun

• Communiquer et socialiser avec les créateurs des autres Webs

Cet apport s’insère dans deux mouvements de fonds et contribue à les renforcer: c’est l’apport proprement politique et social de Pearltrees

• La démocratisation des médias et des sociétés par le Web

• La démocratisation du Web

- Le Web a permis à chacun de partager ses créations et d’établir son information

Open/close button : It is dedicated to the opening and the closing of a pearltree. It is not explicit enough yet and we would like to improve it.

Focus/Unfocus button : It is dedicated to focus or unfocus on a pearltree. A pearltree is a special pearl that content some url pearls. In fact a pearltree is the tool of pearltrees creator. Thus each creator link pearltrees together and sometimes, to clear one’s creator mind, it is needed to see the pearltree alone without the others around, that is the focus. And to have the big picture, we need an unfocus.

Let’s build your web

For the moment, the only way to build your web, is by pearling your surf with our plugin. And our pugin only works with firefox 3.0. If you don’t have our favorite navigator, no worries, you can install it very quickly.

Pearling while you are surfing is a great feeling! But, sometimes, you just want to see the pearls you have just made. Then just click on “reveal” and… enjoy.
