PDEA-Antique Attends Coordination Meeting on Peace, Order and Security

At 10:00 AM, October 2, 2019, PDEA Antique Provincial Office represented by IA-III Gerald Sanguenza, attended the coordination meeting on Peace, Order and Security at the New Capitol Annex, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

On October 2, 2019 at 1:30 PM, PDEA-6 represented by Mr. Cibeleo P. Nobleza, Jr. attended the Iloilo Organizational Meeting and Lecture on RA 11032 on Ease of Doing Business conducted by Civil Service Commission Regional Office-6 held at the Iloilo Grand Tower Hotel, Iznart St., Iloilo City.

The organizational meeting gave emphasis on the Citizen’s Charter of the agencies as well as the importance and urgency of compliance by government offices to cater to the needs of its clients.

PDEA-6 Chief and Antique Team Meet with Caluya Mayor

At 9:00 AM of October 3, 2019, PDEA-6 Officer-in-Charge Alex M. Tablate and PDEA-Antique Team paid their courtesy call to Mayor Rigil Kent Lim, of the island Municipality of Caluya, Antique.

Discussed during the meeting were the application of the five (5) barangays of the said island Municipality for the next Oversight Committee Deliberation as well as the proposed Roll-Out Seminar on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program.

This also includes the planned full implementation of the Drug-Free Workplace Policy Program in the Municipality.

PDEA-6 Attends Organization Meeting

At 1:00 PM of October 3, 2019, PDEA-6 Office-in-Charge Alex M. Tablate with PDEA Antique Team led by IA-III Jyxyvzcky G. Escrupolo, attended the Joint Organizational Meeting of Local Special Bodies at Island Tourist Inn, Municipality of Caluya, Antique.

Participants were the head of offices from the PNP, Coast Guard, DepEd, Bureau of Fire, Barangay Chairmen and officials and the Civil Society Organization representatives where OIC Alex Tablate presented an update on the Drug Situation.

Crime Prevention and Drug Symposium Conducted in TESDA-Guimaras

At 9:00 AM of October 4, 2019 PDEA-Guimaras led by IA-V Ferdenand Kintanar, together with the Guimaras Provincial Police Office PCR and Guimaras Religious Ministry conducted symposium on Crime Prevention, Drug Awareness and Moral Values Seminar to the students of TESDA-Guimaras located at Provincial Capitol Grounds, Jordan, Guimaras.

The drug awareness program was carried out in line with the Anti-Drug Campaign efforts in the province.

Anti-Drug Summit to be Held in Bacolod

On October 7, 2019 at 9:00 AM, PDEA-NOCPO Team under the direct supervision of IA-I Nicolas C. Gomez attended a meeting at Taculing Barangay Hall, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.

The said meeting was in preparation for the upcoming Anti-Drug Summit to be held at Bacolod City College.

The meeting was also attended by the Barangay Officials of Taculing, Chief of Police of Bacolod City Police Station 6 and representatives from City Health Office, Department of Interior and Local Government and staff of the Bacolod City College.

Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy Program Conducted in Bacolod City

On October 11, 2019, at 9:00 AM, PDEA-NOCPO Team led by IA-I Nicolas C. Gomez, attended the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy Orientation for Bacolod Anti-Drug Abuse Council held at the Acasia Hotel, Reclamation Rd. Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

The guest speaker of the said activity was Undersecretary Earl P. Saavedra, Executive Director, Dangerous Drugs Board.

The said orientation was participated by the personnel from DILG, PNP, DOJ, DSSD, CSWD, NBI, DEPED, religious sectors, NGOs, representatives from LGUs and officials of the 61 barangays of Bacolod City.

The orientation was done to achieve the drug-free communities through supply reduction efforts and demand reduction initiatives.

DDB, PDEA Participate during "Live Life, Choose Life" Advocacy Campaign in Estancia

At 9:00 AM of October 10, 2019, PDEA Iloilo Provincial Office represented by IA-III Ruenell Butch E. Montenegro, Assistant Provincial Officer and his team were resource speakers on the third day activity program of Estancia's Kontra Droga, an Anti-Drug Advocacy Campaign in collaboration with the Dangerous Drugs Board, DOH and PDEA with the theme: "Live life, Choose Life" at Paon Beach Club, Estancia, Iloilo.

Also tackled during the activity include the National and Regional Drug Situation, and this was attended also by the DDB office heads and staff, DOH representative from Pototan, Iloilo and Estancia.

The said activity was participated by Estancia MPS personnel, Estancia Municipal Employees and Estancia Fraternity Organizations.

PDEA-Antique Interacts with PWUDs

On October 10, 2019 at 9:00 AM, PDEA-Antique led by Asst. Provincial Officer IA-I Jane Fatima Tuadles, served as resource speaker during the conduct of Continuous Education for Persons Who Used Drugs (PWUDS) and Plea- Bargaining applicants held at the DepEd Building, Hamtic, Antique.

Also present were the Hamtic MLGOO, MHO, religious sectors and Hamtic MPS.

Discussed were the common violations and penalties of RA 9165 and strengthening of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program.

Participants were surenderers and the Barangay Chairman of 22 drug-affected barangays of Hamtic, Antique.

PDEA-NOCPO Holds Dialogue with PWUDs

October 12, 2019 at around 9:00 AM, PDEA-NOCPO team led by IA-I Nicolas C. Gomez, Provincial Officer and the BDCP team, conducted lecture to the PWUDs (persons who used drugs) during the initial on-site validation at Brgy. 41, Bacolod City.

Barangay 41 is one of the candidate barangays for the 17th ROC Deliberation.

The said activity was also participated by PNP personnel of Station 4, Bacolod City.

Simultaneously, other members of the team attended the Community Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) session held at the Montevista Barangay Hall, Brgy. Montevista, Bacolod City.

The said session was attended by the PWUDs who are classified as mild-risk and moderate-risk.

PDEA-Capiz Attends Brgy. Assembly at Ivisan, Capiz

On October 13, 2019, PDEA Capiz Provincial Office Team under direct supervision of IA-I Jeanette D. Reyes, participated in the Barangay Assembly 2019 with the Theme "Barangay Muna: Nagkaisang Barangay, Kaagapay ng Bansang Maunlad" at Barangay Agustin Navarra Gym, Ivisan, Capiz.

PDEA discussed drug identification, its ill effects and salient provisions of RA 9165, which was participated by brgy. officials of Brgy. Agustin Navara, Ivisan, Capiz in the Campaign against Illegal Drugs.

At the same time, the Ivisan Municipal Police Station represented by PCMS Sueleen D. Pinalba with the direct supervision of PCAP Leomindo S. Tayopon discussed Terrorism and Ivisan Fire Station represented by FO3 Mary Grace O. Apuang also discussed Fire Safety Tips.

Drug Awareness Program Conducted at Lucmayan Elementary School

On October 14, 2019 at 1:00 PM, PDEA Guimaras Provincial Office under the direct supervision of IA-V Ferdenand A. Kintanar, conducted drug awareness lecture to the students of Lucmayan Elementary School held at Barangay Lucmayan, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

Discussed during the said activity were the types of drugs, its ill-effects and the salient provisions of RA 9165.

The activity conducted was part of the drug awareness program of the school as mandated by the DEpEd.

Also present during the said activity were the PNP personnel of the Nueva Valencia MPS and Highway Patrol Group of Jordan, Guimaras.

PDEA Komiks were also distributed after the activity.

PDEA Attends Drug Abuse Council Performance Audit

On October 10, 2019 at 8:30 AM, PDEA-6 represented by IA-V Levi G. Valmoria, Chief Operations Division with PDEA-Iloilo Province Team joined the ADAC Regional Audit Team (ART), along with other stakeholders on DILG MC 2019-117 re 2018 Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Audit.

The performance audit focused on the updates of the Drug Abuse Council in relation to the activities of different agencies in the province.

Advocacy Campaign Conducted at San Roque Elem School

Students and faculty of San Roque Elementary School in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras actively participated during the Drug Awareness Symposium in line with the weeklong celebration of Oplan Kalusugan by the Department of Education, October 17, 2019.

PDEA-Guimaras represented by IA-V Jose B. Tomabini, Jr., and his team under the direct supervision of IA-V Ferdenand A. Kintanar gave a lecture on the types of drugs, its ill-effects and the salient provisions of RA 9165.

Also present in the activity were PNP personnel of Nueva Valencia MPS and HPG Guimaras.

New Gov't Center in Bacolod Inspected as Masskara Festival Nears

The PDEA NOCPO K9 Interdiction under the direct supervision of IA- Nicolas C. Gomez, Provincial Officer, conducted Random Paneling and K9 Sweeping at the New Government Center, Bacolod City yesterday evening, October 17, 2019 at 6:00 PM.

The area was targeted by the Interdiction Operation as a key venue and as part of the agency's intensified and unrelenting campaign to interdict drug trafficking and as deterence for any drug transactions that may occur during the entire duration of the annual celebration of Masskara Festival in Bacolod City.

The said operation yielded negative for any presence of illegal drugs and other contrabands.

LTO, PDEA and PNP Join Hands for Oplan Undas Inspections

At around 9:00 AM, October 22, 2019, personnel of PDEA RO VI Interdiction/K9 Unit together with the elements of Land Transportation Office Enforcement Team and Iloilo City Police Office, conducted surprise inspections at four (4) Bus Terminals in Iloilo City namely, Tagbak Terminal, Pavia Terminal in Ungka, San Pedro Molo Terminal and at Southern Iloilo Perimeter Boundary Terminal in Mohon, Iloilo City.

The PDEA VI Interdiction/K9 Unit conducted paneling at the incoming and outgoing buses, jeepneys and public utility vehicles on the above-mentioned Terminals.

The LTO Enforcement Team inspected the road worthiness of public utility vehicles and jeepneys on said terminals.

Meanwhile, Iloilo City Police Office personnel provided security during the entire duration of the said activity.

This activity is in line with the implementation of LTO's Oplan Undas.

PDEA-NOCPO Ensures Drug-Free Concert during Masskara Festival

At 3:00 PM of October 25, 2019, PDEA-NOCPO and its K9 Interdiction Unit under the direct supervision of IA-I Nicolas C. Gomez, Provincial Officer, conducted random paneling and inspections during the Coca-Cola Concert held in front of Seda Bacolod Hotel, Seda Capitol, North Capital Road, Lacson St., Bacolod City.

The event showcased local music bands to kick-off the annual celebration of Masskara Festival.

In addition, signal was jammed during the activities as Masskara revelers are directed to be cautious to avoid potential danger.

The interdiction operation is part of the agency's intensified campaign to interdict drug trafficking and as deterrence for any transactions that may occur during the said concert.

No illegal drugs were found during the said activity.

PDEA-Antique Joins 1st Provincial Task Force ELCAC Caravan

On October 24, 2019, PDEA-Antique headed by Provincial Officer IA-III Jyxyvzcky G. Escrupolo joined the First Provincial Task Force-End Local Communist Armed Conflict Medical, Surgical, Dental and Infomation Caravan at Brgy. Osorio I, San Remigio, Province of Antique.

The activity was initiated by the Office of the Governor through the Peace Order and Public Safety Office along with the following agencies, Philippine Army led by 61st IB,3ID LTC. Joel Benedict G. Batara, Office of the Congresswoman Hon. Loren Legarda, Philippine Airforce, NBI, NICA, DILG, Philhealth, Department of Agrarian Reform, Philippine Information Agency, DENR, TESDA, DSWD, DOH, DEPED,DOLE, DTI, DPWH, BFP, PNP, PROVET and other agencies.

Recipients of the said peace promotion initiative were the residents of Brgy. Osorio I, Osorio II, La Union, Aningalan, Tubudan, Nabangi I, Nabangi II, Alegria, Panpanan I and Agricula.

PDEA Comics were also distributed to the constituents of the said barangays during the said activity.

BARANGAY DRUG CLEARING PROGRAM

Barangays in Iloilo City and Iloilo Province Undergo On-site Validations

PDEA Iloilo City and Iloilo Province Team under the direct supervision of IA-III Cornelio C. Espartero, Provincial Officer conducted series of on-site validation on the different barangays both in the city and province of ILOILO.

The validation was in line with the upcoming Regional Oversight Committee Deliberation this month.

PDEA Comics were also distributed during the said activity.

On October 14, 2019 at around 10:00 AM, PDEA-NOCPO under the direct supervision of IA-I Nicolas C. Gomez, Provincial Officer and its BDCP team attended the Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) Launching and Orientation held at the Tourism Center, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

PDEA discussed the Barangay Drug Clearing Program parameters during the said program launching.

5 More Barangays in Banga, Aklan Undergo On-site Validation

At 9:00 AM of October 21, 2019, PDEA Aklan Provincial Office led by IA-III Eugene O. Prieto together with his team, conducted on-site validation on the five (5) remaining barangays to be cleared in the Municipality of Banga, Aklan.

The said activity was participated by Banga Police Station, MLGOO, Punong Barangays, BADAC focal persons, BADAC Secretaries and SK chairmen.

The said barangays are applicants for the 17th Regional Oversight Committee Deliberation this last week of October 2019.

BALAY SILANGAN UPDATES

2nd Batch of Pusher-Surrenderers Commence their Reformation m at Tapaz, Balay Silangan Center

26 pusher-surrenders from the Municipalities of Tapaz, Cuartero, Dumalag, Pilar and Sigma, Capiz showed up to begin their first day at the Balay Silangan Reformation Center at the Capiz State University Compound, Tapaz Capiz, on October 11, 2019 at around 9:00 AM.

Gretchen Bo-Peep G. Giner, Balay Silangan focal person reminded the enrollees of the program proper, including house rules and regulations, as well as their responsibilities during the said kick-off program.

Further, Ma. Graziella B. Tanaleon, BDCP-Admin focal person gave a lecture on RA 9165. John D. Janolino led the profiling of the surrenderers and gave a background on the ill-effects of drugs.

The LGU staff of the Municipality of Tapaz were also introduced and gave each of their expectations from the enrollees and assured them that they will be well-attended to during the course of the program.

The 2nd batch is set to graduate this December 2019.

PDEA-6 Cascades Balay Silangan and Updates on BDCP during ICADAC

PDEA Iloilo Provincial Team together with Ms. Gretchen Bo-peep G. Giner, focal person for Balay Silangan attended the 4th Quarter Regular Meeting yesterday, October 14, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the Penthouse 1, Iloilo City Hall Building.

PDEA gave an orientation and cascading of the Balay Silangan Program and status report on Barangay Drug Clearing Program. Mayor Jerry P. Treñas and City Director PCOL Martin E Defensor, Jr., were also present during the meeting together with the ABC District Presidents and CSWDO.

MOA Signing for 2nd Batch of Balay Silangan Program Conducted in Passi City

PDEA-6 Officer-in-Charge Alex M. Tablate, together with Gretchen Bo-peep G. Giner, Balay Silangan Focal Person spearheaded the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing last October 15, 2019 at around 2:00 PM between PDEA-6, Cities of Passi and Iloilo and the Municipality of Pavia, held at Midway Restaurant, Passi City.

The ceremony was also attended by Mayor Jerry P. Treñas of Iloilo City, Mayor Stephen A. Palmares and Vice Mayor Jesry T. Palmares of Passi City, MADAC Focal Person of Pavia, Iloilo and other members of the MADAC.

The implementation and opening of the Balay Silangan Program Batch 2 is tentatively set on October 28, 2019.

Balay Silangan Reformation Facility in Miag-ao Set to Open this November 2019.

Last October 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM, Gretchen Bo-peep G. Giner, Balay Silangan Focal Person in Region VI met with Mayor Macario N. Napulan of Miag-ao, Iloilo together with Mr. John Nocal, Municipal Administrator to discuss the final preparation for the upcoming opening of the Balay Silangan Reformation Facility located at the MDRRMC facility in Miag-ao Iloilo.

Manpower compliment, budget planning as well as renovation of Balay Silangan Facility were also discussed.

At around 1:00 PM of the same date, Ms. Giner together with Mayor Napulan, the Municipal Adminstrator, the Chief Engineer, representative from the DILG and other staff proceeded to the prospect Balay Silangan Facility located at the MDRRMC facility in Miag-ao, Iloilo.

A discussion on the needs to be modified inside the facility for the upcoming implementation of Balay Silangan Reformation Center was tackled.

First Balay Silangan Reformation Center in Neg. Occ. to Officially Open in Bacolod City

On October 22, 2019 at about 11:30 AM, IA-I Nicolas C. Gomez and his team upon the invitation of Mr. Samuel V. Montoyo, Bacolod City Drug Abuse Program Coordinator and Engr. Amy Tentia, City Building Administrator, met to discuss about the near completion of the building constructed by the City Government to house Balay Silangan clients and PDEA Office.

After the meeting, the team proceeded to the site at Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City for building ocular inspection.

The building is complete with amenities, office provisions and personnel accomodations both for Balay Silangan and PDEA personnel.

The building is expected to be occupant-ready this coming December 2019.
