Peking University, Spring Application Instructions

To start a new application, click on the Register button.

1) Follow all the instructions listed on this sample application. Otherwise, your application will appear in the wrong format.

2) You will need your official UC transcript, passport, and a passport style photo on hand in order to complete this online application.

3) After submitting the application online to PKU, print one (1) copy of the completed application. You may also want to print an extra copy for your own records.

4) Write the characters for your Chinese name on the first page, next to your typed Chinese name in pinyin. Your Chinese name should have two to three Chinese characters. If you do not have a Chinese name, ask a language instructor or select one online. The Beijing Study Center will assign you a Chinese name if you do not provide one. Keep in mind that this name will be used on all of your records in China.

5) Attach a passport style photo.

6) Sign and date application.

7) Submit the printed application to UCEAP.

Input registration information. Keep track of your username and password so that you can access it later on.

Once you submit your registration information, PKU will send you an email. Click on the link and it will take you to the application.

Use an email account that you check regularly.

Select Non-degree Program Application.

Read the agreement and click I agree.

Select General Visiting Students Program (G).

Then select Group Program (G3).

Select University of California EAP.

Upload a scanned passport style photo.

Student

Your personal information must match what is listed in your passport.

You must include your Chinese name where indicated on the form. Your Chinese name should have two to three Chinese characters. Leave blank. You will apply for your visa during later on.

Country of citizenship.

First name. Last name.

List all schools attended after high school, including current UC.

Scan a copy of your passport to upload with your online PKU application.

Unseal your official transcript and scan a copy to upload to the PKU online application system. Submit the hard copy with your PKU application print out to UCEAP.

If this section does not say Study Plan Spring 2014 Group Program, you completed the first section of the application incorrectly and need to go back and correct it.

Select School of Chinese as a Second Language as your department.

If you wish to enroll in a different department, you must provide a language proficiency certificate (ex. HSK) to prove that your Chinese language ability is advanced enough for coursework in Chinese.

Do not send supporting documents directly to PKU. Application materials should be sent to UCEAP. As soon as your application is complete with all required documents, it will be forwarded to PKU for consideration.

Don’t forget to:

�� Print, sign, and date the application. �� Write the characters for your Chinese

name on the first page. �� Attach a passport style photo. �� Send the original application to

UCEAP.

1. Check that all of your information is correct. Click on My Application if you need to revise your application.

2. Once all of your information is correct, click submit.

3. When you submit your application, it will be put in the ‘in process’ status. PKU will review your online application for errors and will contact you via your application inbox if there are any problems.

4. Once your application is cleared by PKU, the status will change to ‘ApplyStatus.wait.’ Press the print button on the right-hand side of the webpage. The application form will be printed out in PDF format (not the webpage format) with a barcode at the top.
