COVID SAFE EVENT
The 2020 Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run’s COVID Safe event plan has been approved by QLD Health. This means that you will notice a few changes to the event this year to make sure we keep everyone safe – some of these include:
• Race Capacity: The race capacity has been reduced by 25% for the 2020 event;
• Start Waves: All races will start in waves to ensure competitors are more dispersed across the course;
• Handwashing Stations: A large number of handwashing stations will be installed around the event site. Please use them!
• Social Distancing: When lining up to collect your Race Pack from the registration tent or at the baggage tent, please observe social distancing, by keeping 1.5m away from others at all times. This includes spectators at the start and finish lines also, we ask that you don’t congregate in groups and leave the event site once you have completed your race;
• Spectators: We understand that you want to cheer on your loved ones, but we ask that consider sending them your best wishes from afar. If we simply can’t convince you, we ask that all spectators abide by the social distancing rules at all time and consider spreading out along the course (please refer to map available on website)
• Onsite Cleaning: We have increased our onsite cleaning teams and will ensure all toilets and common surfaces are sanitised regularly. We also encourage everyone to ensure that you use the hand-washing stations and bring along your own saniters.
• Water Stops: The water stops are self-service only this year. Please grab your water from the table and continue along the course to avoid congestion at the water stops;
• Finish Zone: PLEASE don’t stop and congregate in the finish zone! Once you cross the finish line, please make sure you continue through the finish chute to avoid congestion.
• COVID Messaging: Please listen to all announcements over the PA and to any direction given by event staff and volunteers. We are here to make sure everyone has an enjoyable and SAFE event.
• COVID Safe App: We strongly encourage all people, including competitors and spectators attending the event to download the COVID Safe App.
COVID-19 CONTACT TRACING • Spectators: As a condition of entry, all spectators,
contractors, staff and volunteers who intend to enter the event site must register their details and complete the screening questions via our COVD-Safe event check in. To complete this, simply scan the QR Code (to the right) and complete the details.
There will also be signage placed around the event site with these codes too – please help us keep you safe!
• Registered competitors: Competitors details have already been obtained via the registration process, so there is no need for competitors to complete the QR code COVID-Safe event check in.
