A receptive skill such as reading has an important role in English comprehension generally. Information from books, websites, and others sources can be effectively gained though intensive reading. Books as the main source for almost all kind and grade of education unit play a big role in achieving the aim of education. Mapping strategy uses a graphic organizer to help students learn the elements of a book or story. By identifying story characters, plot, setting, problem and solution, students read carefully to learn the details. There are many different types of map graphic organizers. The most basic focus on the beginning, middle, and end of the story. More advanced organizers focus more on plot or character traits. Description above establishes the writer to do this research. Hopefully by doing this research the writer can suggest a strategy to facilitate students’ understanding specifically in narrative texts.
