SEND OUT YOUR SPIRIT

Last week we heard that, following the Ascension, the disciples, Mary, and other followers of the Lord retreated to the upper room in prayer. This week we hear that, while praying in that room, the Holy Spirit comes upon them. Je-sus’ post-Resurrection promise, recounted in today’s Gos-pel, is fulfilled: the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon Je-sus’ followers. Saint Paul tells us that all of us, in some way, are given gifts of the Holy Spirit, gifts that can be used to spread the Good News. Today is one of the Church’s great-est festivals. Let us carry the refrain of the responsorial psalm with us throughout the coming week: “Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth!” (Psalm 104:30). Copyright © J. S. SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR PRIESTS & SEMINARIANS Next weekend we will have a special and important second collection to support our 14 retired priests who have faithfully served our communi-ty for many years. There will be up to 14 men studying for the priest-

hood in the fall of 2017. These men will serve us in the diocese. Did You Know?.... Fifty priests are actively serving in the Diocese of Yakima. Fourteen of the active priests are 65 years of age and older. This Special

Collection helps support the annual operating costs for the retired priests and seminarians education.

PARISH PICNIC Next Sunday 10 am & 12 pm Masses are Canceled!

This year’s Parish Picnic is this coming Sunday, June 11th! As in years past, the 10:00 and 12:00 Masses will be canceled that day and an 11:00 am Bilingual Mass at the School will replace them with food served afterward outside the gym.

Father says it’s ok to dress casual for Mass that day because we will play soccer and volleyball after we eat! If you last name begins with A-L, please bring a salad to share. If your last name begins with N-Z, please bring a yummy de-

sert. (Last year we didn’t have enough!)

PRAISE CONCERT Friday, June 23rd

Sonia Villareal, a very talented Mexican born sing-er with 17 years of singing and performing expe-rience will be at the St. Rose School Gym on Fri-day, June 23rd at 7 pm. Sonia’s music is in Span-ish, Mariachi style. Come and enjoy a night of

praise, adoration and testimonials, full of culture! Admission is free of charge and all are welcome!

Religious Education Director Position Open Our Parish is in need of a Reli-

gious Education Director for this coming school year. Do you feel called to work with the youth of our Church? Are you organized and detail oriented? Do you have

a passion for the spreading the Gospel? This position is part-time and begins in August. The main duties include recruiting teachers for

La semana pasada oí mos que, despue s de la Ascensio n, los discí pulos, Marí a y otros seguidores del Sen or se retiraron al piso alto donde perseveraron una nimes en la oracio n. Esta semana escuchamos que, mientras estaban en oracio n allí , el Espí ritu Santo vino sobre ellos. La promesa de Jesu s despue s de la Resurreccio n, relatada en el Evangelio de hoy, se cumple: el poder del Espí ritu Santo viene sobre los seguidores de Jesu s. San Pablo nos dice que todos nosotros, de alguna manera, se nos dan los dones del Espí ritu Santo, dones que se pueden usar para anunciar la Buena Nueva. Hoy es una de las ma s grandes fiestas de la Iglesia. Lleve-mos el estribillo del salmo responsorial con nosotros: "Enví a tu Espí ritu Sen or, y repuebla la faz de la tierra" (Salmo 104: 30). Colecta Especial Para Los Sacerdotes Jubilados y Educación Para Los Seminaristas – Próximo Fin de Semana

Gracias por todas sus oraciones y apoyo durante la colecta del an o pasado. Esta colecta especial e importante apoya a nuestros 14 Sacerdotes jubilados que han servido fielmente a nuestra comunidad por muchos an os y continuar prepara n-donos para que hasta 14 hombres que se encuentran estudiando para el sacer-docio y que continúen sus estudios para el 2017. ¿Sabías que?....Cincuenta sacerdotes sirven activamente a la Dio cesis. Catorce de los sacerdotes activos

son mayores de 65 an os de edad. La Colecta Especial apoya el costo de operacio n anual para los sacerdotes jubilados y la educacio n de los seminaristas.

CONCIERTO DE ALABANZA Sonia Villareal, una cantante mexicana muy ta-lentosa con 17 an os de experiencia en cantar en el escenario estara en el gimnasio de Sta. Rosa el viernes 23 de junio a las 7 pm.
