Information Regarding Auditions

PepBandisanextra-curricularactivitythattakesplaceprimarilyintheFallaswellasinaportionoftheSpringSemester.Toparticipateintheensemble,onemustauditionandbeacceptedbythedirector.Studentsauditioningwillbescoredonhowwelltheyperformedinboththepreparedandsight-readingcategoriesoftheaudition.Theirscoreswilldeterminetheireligibilityforthegroupaswellastheirchairplacementintheensemble.Theseauditionswillbeheldafterschoolduringthethirdweekofclasses.Asign-upsheetwillbeavailableontheBandRoomdoor.

AuditionRequirements:AllBrass,Woodwind,andBassGuitarmustprepare:• BbMajorScale-Studentmaybeaskedtotongueup/slurdown.• FCAFightSong-Payattentiontoaccentsanddynamics.• FCAAlmaMater-Payattentiontophrasinganddynamics.

Percussionistsmustprepare:• BbMajorScale(onXylophone-Performnotatedrolls;onlyoneoctaveisneeded)
