WHAT IS RESILIENCE?

PURPOSE

• The purpose of this study is to explore how students cope with stress, and

how this ties in with their overall level of resilience.

METHOD

• There were twenty-six research participants

from Reading Area Community College.

• Participants answered demographic

questions: gender, age, & ethnicity.

• Survey was completed through SurveyMonkey

and participants signed a consent form.

• There were a total of six questions.

• Questioning format: Likert Scale

• Data was analyzed using a t-test.

Limitations

• Lack of gender diversity

• Participants were trusted to be honest in their responses.

• Trusted to properly follow directions that were given with

the survey.

Future

Research

• Explore if gender roles and expectations

affect having a positive mindset.

• Explore if age affects having a positive

mindset.

• See if stress management skills and healthy

coping skills can be taught to younger ages.

• And if this influences strength and development

of individual’s resilience.
