Industry Membership Guidelines - Performance

Once you have made the commitment to purchase a show horse, there are certain industry association memberships you will need to obtain. Here, we break down the requirements and costs associated with showing your American Saddlebred.

♦American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) ⇒ The OWNER of the horse, as listed on the Registration Papers,

must be a member of ASHA. ⇒ Membership is valid from December 1, 20xx-November 30,

20xx, and must be renewed annually. ⇒ Cost is $30 for a Junior Member (under 18 on Dec. 1), and

$70 for a Senior Member (over 18 on Dec. 1) ⇒ Go to https://www.asha.net/members/register.php to

register/renew online. ⇒ Once registered, please provide the Legacy Office with a copy

of your ASHA Membership Card for our records.

♦United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) ⇒ The OWNER and EXHIBITOR of the horse must be a member

of USEF. ⇒ Membership is valid from December 1, 20xx – November 30,

20xx, and must be renewed annually (or every three years if you choose that option-see below).

⇒ Cost is $55 for Juniors and Seniors per year or $165 for three years for the membership, and $15 per year for the application fee.

⇒ Go to https://www.usef.org/_IFrames/memberServices/membership/joinRenew.aspx to register/renew your membership online.

⇒ Once registered, please provide the Legacy Office with a copy of your USEF Membership Card for our records.

⇒ The OWNER and EXHIBITOR of the horse must be a member of ASAC.

⇒ Membership is valid from January 1, 20xx-December 31, 20xx, and must be renewed annually.

⇒ Cost is $10 for Juniors (18 and Under), and $20 for Seniors (19 and Older).

⇒ Go to http://www.asacsaddlebred.com/forms-2/ to download the form. The form and CHECK payment must be mailed in to the address at the bottom of the form.

⇒ Once registered, please provide confirmation to the Legacy Office that you have sent it in for our records. You will not receive a membership card for ASAC.

♦North Carolina Horse Council (NCHC) ⇒ To show at the Carolina Summer Classic Championship Horse

Show in November, the EXHIBITOR must be a member of NCHC and ASAC.

⇒ Membership is valid from the date of payment through December 31, 20xx, and must be renewed annually.

⇒ Cost is $10 for Junior Members (under 18) and $20 for Individual Members (18 and over).

⇒ Cost is $35 for Junior Members (under 18) and $65 for Associate Members (18 and over).

Performance Boot Camps These camps are limited to Legacy Saddlebreds Performance Team Members. Campers will receive intense instruction geared to the show ring, educational experiences about the American Saddlebred and our industry, and how to care for their beautiful Show Horse!
