  • SCENARIO II - BATTLE OF THE TENTSBretonnian Player's Battle Scroll

    THE CASTELLANOF QUENELLES' RETINUE

The Bretonnian force consists of 1,000 pointschosen from the army list in the WarhammerArmies Bretonnia book. Choice is limited to thetroops listed here. Wherever the scenario callsfor an exception to the Warhammer army list, this will be indicated below.

CHARACTERSCastellan of QuenellesThe Bretonnians are led by the Castellan ofQuenelles, who counts as the army's General.

Commoner ChampionsYoumaychoose one Commoner Champion for eachunit in your army, armed and equipped as the restof the unit. No Commoner Champions can havemagic items.

REGIMENTS0-1 Unit of Mounted SquiresYour army may include one unit of MountedSquires.

0-1 Unit of SquiresYour army may include one unit of Squires.

Men-at-armsYour army may include any number of units ofMen-at-arms.

BowmenYour army may include any number of units ofBowmen.

VICTORY GAINSThe Bretonnians are unlikely to stop the WoodElvesstealing the Chalice, but they may succeed inpreventing them taking the other magic items. Ifthey succeed, they will deny these potent magicalitems to the Wood Elfplayer in the final battle.

TACTICAL HINTSThe last two prizes are the most useful to the WoodElves, though of course neither side knows this yet! Therefore the Bretonnians should try and establishcontrol over the area around the prize pavilionwithin the first two turns if possible. The best way todo this is to concentrate your attack on the centre ofthe are_a.Youwill of course have to watch out forWood Elvessneaking around your flanks and guardagainst this. Do not underestimate the abilities ofyour Squires in hunting down, beating out andchasing off small units of Wood Elves, after all, theSquires take on more ferocious beasts in the hunt!

The Glade Guards, on the other hand, often proveto be a lot more stubborn than they look. They area real match for your Men-at-arms and are quitecapable of holding off your men from the prizepavilion. This is a good reason for ganging up onthem with several of your units. The Castellan has 'got his work cut out to regain control of the tentenclosure and will be very lucky if he can snatchvictory from the Wood Elves. You cannot afford tobe put off by the arrows of the enemy!

  • SCENARIO tu: THE PERILOUS PILGRIMAGE

The Reliquary WanonThe reliquary" wagon is hauled along by hordes ofpilgrims who will defend themselves if attacked. You can attach horses to it if you wish as aconversion. Ifyou do, then the crew are assumed tobe riding on the wagon and accompanying it to helppush it out :of the-mud. The horses will make nodifference to the profile or mo:vement rate.

The pilgrims accompanying the wagon include graildamsels, townsfolk, peasants, vendors of small leadsouvenirs of the grail and others. Definitely not thesort of crowd that Wood Elves like to see beating apilgrims' way through their sacred glades! Thewagon operates as an independent unit .and costsno extra points but is worth 1 victory point __ifdestroyed.
