“Don’t sweat the small stuff”
Take a leap of faith.
Where did we start?
• 1 Course – Maths Specialist 3 AB run at Murdoch University.
• Align the school period structures.• Cooperate for the good of all of the students across
the schools without letting egos interfere. • Identify courses that have small numbers that
schools could not afford to run individually.• Identify the best teachers to teach each course whilst
not reducing the capacity of schools to cover the curriculum.
• Rotate courses to maintain expertise in each school.
The Period Structure
• 5 Periods per day.
• Each period 64 Minutes
• 20 periods = 1,280 minutes (full time teaching load)
• 5 periods = 320 minutes (DOTT)
• 25 periods = 1600 minutes (middle school teaching requirement)
