Considerations There are many considerations which need to be thought through in regards to this self-branding brief, to ensure successful completion: - What do you want/need to say about yourself? - What makes you unique and how do you communicate it? - How do you address multiple audiences? - Do you tailor your material to specific audiences or aim to create a uniform identity? - How will your audiences(s) receive your material? - What is your budget and what can you get for it? - How can you get free publicity? - How do you maximise exposure? Solution I feel that now I am employed part-time as a Junior Graphic Designer, I do not need a portfolio as such to send out to clients for placements, internships and jobs at present. As I also carry out freelance and commissioned work, I do need basic branding and stationery to use as a promotional tool with potential clients, and to take to networking events. I want something which can be adapted as I progress in my career and become more specialised in the field I want to work in, Fashion. Evaluation I realised I had a problem with my previous personal branding, due to having issues making booklets for each studio which is contacted - it was too time consuming and too expensive. I feel I have not only rectified this problem, I have also improved my personal identity by simplifying the various elements. Furthermore, I feel my new branding really hits the nail on the head in regards to my manifesto and my personal design style which is evident through my portfolio. “With a feminine, Nineties-inspired aesthetic and a portfolio of unusual lookbooks, this young graphic designer is set to go far, whether in her natural habitat of the fashion industry or beyond.” - Grafik Magazine, November 2014. Tone of Voice The branding as a whole reflects the following: - Aesthetic: Feminine, Pattern, Eclectic, 90s, Retro. - Tone: Fun yet Professional - Smart and Clean. - Instant Impact: Colourful, Typographic and Visual. - CV, Portfolio: Information and Work Examples. www.daniellemuntyandesign.dunked.com www.behance.com/daniellemuntyan 1/6

    The Brief

Produce a range of self promotional material for delivery through print and electronic media.

    Brief Type

    BAGD set brief.

    Context & Target Audience

Developing an effective design presence requires a clear sense of what you want/need to communicate about yourself combined with an informed understanding of what your Target Audience - potential clients, employers or collaborators expect to see.

There were still elements of my Personal Branding I wasnt 100% sure on, and felt the idea I had could be further developed and simplified at the same time. Therefore my personal branding was further refined.

    Considerations

There are many considerations which need to be thought through in regards to this self-branding brief, to ensure successful completion:

    - What do you want/need to say about yourself? - What makes you unique and how do you communicate it? - How do you address multiple audiences? - Do you tailor your material to specific audiences or aim to create a uniform identity? - How will your audiences(s) receive your material? - What is your budget and what can you get for it? - How can you get free publicity? - How do you maximise exposure?

    Solution

I feel that now I am employed part-time as a Junior Graphic Designer, I do not need a portfolio as such to send out to clients for placements, internships and jobs at present. As I also carry out freelance and commissioned work, I do need basic branding and stationery to use as a promotional tool with potential clients, and to take to networking events. I want something which can be adapted as I progress in my career and become more specialised in the field I want to work in, Fashion.

    Evaluation

I realised I had a problem with my previous personal branding, due to having issues making booklets for each studio which is contacted - it was too time consuming and too expensive. I feel I have not only rectified this problem, I have also improved my personal identity by simplifying the various elements.

Furthermore, I feel my new branding really hits the nail on the head in regards to my manifesto and my personal design style which is evident through my portfolio.

With a feminine, Nineties-inspired aesthetic and a portfolio of unusual lookbooks, this young graphic designer is set to go far, whether in her natural habitat of the fashion industry or beyond.- Grafik Magazine, November 2014.

    Tone of Voice

The branding as a whole reflects the following:

    - Aesthetic: Feminine, Pattern, Eclectic, 90s, Retro.- Tone: Fun yet Professional - Smart and Clean.- Instant Impact: Colourful, Typographic and Visual.- CV, Portfolio: Information and Work Examples.

    Development

After realising I had a problem with my previous personal branding worked on around Christmas time I decided to once again re-work this.

Due to having issues making booklets for each studio which is contacted - it was too time consuming and too expensive to go ahead with the examples shown above. I also felt with additional stationery, this personal branding was too OTT when collated and felt a more colour/print based solution would be better suited to my personal and professional practice.

    Branding & Identity Overview

The updated personal branding and identity is a fresh version of my existing promotional material, keeping the same logo, yet allowing my design tastes, style and recent work to be reflected in a more obvious manner.

Different designs have been produced and juxtaposed with the logo, to create a series of business cards and interchangeable stationery.

    Outcome: Personal Branding & Identity

    Digital Portfolio and CV

I also want to include a CD with a mini-teaser portfolio showcasing examples of my work relevant to the client and project at hand.

By doing so, the content can be easily and quickly adapted to the job being pitched for, tailoring the portfolio as to what the client wants and needs to see. This along with the invoice, and stationery allows for successful self promotion and the smooth running of a day to day freelance business.

    Outcome: Business Cards

    Interchangeable Stationery

Different designs have been produced and juxtaposed with the logo, to create a series of business cards and interchangeable stationery.

The bold, bright and playful aesthetic reflects the visuals, colour, typography and imagery used in my work, allowing for a fun, retro, feminine and 90s tone to be portrayed, as reflected through my completed works.
