Join the PES fight against youth unemployment !

The PES is since May 2012 leading a joint campaigncalling for a European Youth Guarantee. Thanks to the engagement of campaigners all over Europe, a youth guarantee is becoming closer to reality, but there is still much to be done.

You too can help us fighting youth unemployment, by supporting this campaign. Even a small amount can make a difference.

PES Priorities TheThe socialist and social democratic movement has long fought to build a better life for all. We are proud of what we have achieved for people. The welfare state, universal education and health care lifted millions out of poverty and created more equal and fair societies. People, money, goods, information and ideas travel around the world incessantly. This is a multi polar, complex and fragmented world. Our movement strives for freedom, equality, solidarity and social justice. Our fundamental values are uniuniversal. Together, they form our moral compass, with which we fight to build progressive societies. Today these values are being challenged. Strengthening the PES is fundamental for the future of European social democracy. The PES and its member parties and organizations are strongly committed to investing all our energy and resources into develo-ping our vision, modernising our structures, broadening our bases and achieving our common ambition of conquering and exercising power in Europe and in the Member States in order to develop progressive societies in the 21st century.

PES Leaders agreed on their top priorities of the European Union to focus on the main challenges Europe’s people are facing:

1. To secure a strong recovery and a new sustainable and socially just growth model.

2. To achieve fundamental reform of the financial markets to preserve us from future crisis and serve the real economy.

3. To fight climate change and secure clean energy into the future.

4. To promote strong, fair and effective welfare systems in a globalized world: a New Social Europe.

5. To pursue gender equality.

66. To shape a globalization of human progress and security in a new global order.
