MIHI WHAKATAU (A WELCOME CEREMONY FOR NEW FAMILIES)

Thank you for supporting our first mihi whakatau where we welcomed new students and their families to our school. Our senior student leaders were impressive with karanga, kōrero and supporting our new children to feel welcome. It was a really special afternoon. We hope to make this a bit of a new tradition for our school in the future.

2019 BOARD OF TRUSTEE ELECTIONS Voting papers are being counted and we are expecting an announcement tomorrow. We are planning an induction meeting in the afternoon of Sunday, 16 June for our new Board of Trustees. The first Board meeting is to be held on Tuesday, 25th June.

UPPER BRIDGE (YEAR 7 AND 8) INFO EVENING, TUESDAY 2ND JULY, 6-7PM

Come along and hear about the year 7 and 8 programme at Roseneath School. This evening will be of particular interest to parents of our Year 5 and 6 children as you think ahead, but everyone is welcome! We will share what the weekly programme includes, some of the extra leadership and learning opportunities, and answer any questions you might have.

ROSENEATH SCHOOL FUN RUN, FRIDAY 5TH JULY, AFTER A SHORT ASSEMBLY!

This year we are celebrating the end of term and wrapping up our cross country PE unit with a Fun Walk/Run event at school. We'll have the music blaring and a spirit of fun and participation. Feel free to dress up- wacky wigs, crazy costumes- anything goes! Some of us might be trying to be a bit 'Universe' themed and some of us might be rocking the 80's activewear vibe you saw last year. All families including younger siblings are welcome to dress up, cheer us on, and to join in with us on the run if you're keen! UPPER BRIDGE IN THE NEWS

Congratulations to Upper Bridge for writing May’s Predator Free Peninsula Newsletter for Zealandia. You can find this newsletter on the Predator Free Wellington website. We’ve attached a link and the pdf in this week’s newsletter for you to read. https://www.pfw.org.nz/site/assets/files/1148/may_2019_pfwsp_newsletter.pdf

MATARIKI AND STARGAZING EVENING, THURSDAY 4TH JULY, 5:30PM ONWARDS

On Thursday 4th July we have the Wellington Astronomical Society joining us with their telescopes for an evening of stargazing and celebration for the Māori New Year. We will start our Family and Whānau evening at 5:30pm with our school performing waiata and kapa haka for you. There will be food and beverages available to purchase as a fundraiser for the Year 5 and 6 camp. Feel free to bring a favourite family board game or activity to do as a whānau together, and if you have your own binoculars or telescope you might like to bring that too! We will go ahead with the rest of the evening even if it is too cloudy to stargaze.
