Principal’s Message
THE FRIENDSHIP CHAIR This was
installed two weeks ago by Mr Bernie
Hoareau, with some help from Ben.
The students are very happy with the
chair and many are trying it out to find
some new friends. Thanks very much
to Year 6 2011 for this wonderful gift
to the school and our students.
ANNUAL TRIVIA NIGHT Our
school’s major fundraising event for
the year is on again - Saturday 4th
August. The theme this year is Holly-
wood which should give everyone
plenty of scope for costuming. Further
details will be out next week, so start
getting your table group together.
WOOLWORTHS AND COLES SHOP-
PING PROGRAMS This year we will
be participating in both the Wool-
worths Earn and Learn Program and
the Coles Sports for Schools program.
There is a collection box in the front
foyer of the school for the Woolies
Earn and Learn program as this has
started already. Sheets for the stick-
ers are available in the school foyer.
SCHOOL CHAPLAINCY The adver-
tisement for this position closes today.
See Tuesday’s Leader for the ad.
BRAVEHEARTS PROGRAM this is a
great program for our younger stu-
dents in helping them to be more resil-
ient. We hope that all K-4 students
will be able to attend the performance
at school next Wednesday morning.
STAGE 3 CANBERRA - SNOW TRIP
The students and teachers departed
safely on Tuesday and are having a
wonderful time. They should return
about 7pm tonight. Please check the
website for updates to the ETA.
CREATE SOUTH Applications are open
for Create South, a local dramatic pro-
duction by primary students from
schools in the south Sydney area. For
students talented in the performing arts
this is a wonderful opportunity. See
Kyla for an info pack. Online applications
close on Monday 25th June.
EDUCATION WEEK KEEP Thursday
August 2nd free for a BBQ breakfast
start to our Open Day - 8.30-10am.
STAFF LEAVE Mrs Connor will be on
LSL for the next four Mondays, returning
in Week 3 of next term. Mr Peter Haugh
will be replacing Mrs Connor.
CHOIR REHEARSALS Both senior and
junior choirs have rehearsals over the
next two weeks. Please help your child
be organised for these events. The jun-
ior choir rehearsal is here at BBPS and
the senior choirs will be at Burraneer
Bay PS on the last Wednesday of term.

School Band - Drummer Needed Can you keep the beat? Then our band
needs YOU!! We need another percussionist to join our band, playing the drums. If you are interested, talk it over with your parents
and let Mrs Turner know.

banking volunteer is Donna Brown.
BBPS Has Talent As advised in last week’s newsletter, each Sutherland Shire school is invited to submit applications of artwork to be considered for the cover of the Sutherland Shire Schools Music Festival program booklet. This is the Kindergarten finalists from our school. Well done Sophie!
