Project Scenarios

UK Personalisation:

Investigating how access to a personalised learning environment through mobile tablet computers that can be used at home as well as in the classroom, has an impact on pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Please Miss! Can we do the flipped classroom??

Personalisation and closing the attainment gap is hard!

Course: TDU (Aka Curiosity)

Year Group: Year 8And staff!

Pedagogy: Enquiry based learning

Unit:Personal Artefact

Length: 10 weeks (or as long as it takes!)

Tablet:Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7)Part of a wider 1:1 schemePilot class at CLV

Poll resultsWhy the wheel?

Personalised as the object is personal to students, the lines of enquiry they can explore will differ in difficulty, teachers role is to teach the process of carrying out the enquiry, provide tools and techniques to help do this, support and stretch the students as appropriate, step back where possible and let the student lead the learning, provide feedback and critique (and facilitate the same thing from others). Teacher cant just plan the same lesson for everyone in the class in this unit that would be impossible!14

What object will I choose? Why is it important to me?What questions can I ask?How will I find the answers?

Big question and research. What have I found? How can I make sense of it? What is useful/reliable?What will I produce to share my findings? What do people think of my prototype? How can I improve it? What critique can I give others? Can I complete a high quality product to present my findings? Can I articulate my findings and product to a real life audience?
