We are in the process of preparing a new church pictorial directory. We are hoping everyone will participate, the last directory was done in 2003, so it is time to bring our church up to date. Today, after the Morning Worship Service, we invite you sign-up and schedule a date to have your picture taken. You will have 3 different dates/times to choose from: Sundays, January, 17, 24 or 31 from 9:00am to 10:15am or after worship from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. This is a free service provided by First Baptist Church. Everything will be done here at the church, so be assured, there is no cost, and no pressure to purchase any pictures.
POSITION OPENING
First Baptist Church Elkins is accepting resumes for the position of Music and Worship/Leader/Director through Friday, January 15, 2016. Responsibilities include: choir director, praise team leader, coordination of musicians, selecting music for all services, weekly rehearsals, etc. Copies of the complete job description may be obtained by contacting the church office at 304-636-3448 (M-F) between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
SPECIAL PROJECTS OFFERING
The “White Christmas Offering" received on Christmas Eve, is still ongoing and is now designated as "Special Projects Offering." Our goal is to raise $20,000. To date, we have received: $7,012.00. Thank you for your generosity! With this $20,000, we are planning to do 3 projects that will be used to update God’s House. Project 1 is to replace flooring in the Fellowship Hall. We have had some money donated for this project in recent past. Project 2 is to upgrade our air conditioning system that is much needed. Project 3 is to remodel the nursery and entrance into the nursery. We want to make our nursery more attractive than any home in our area. We want to attract young families with babies! Please consider giving over and above what you normally give to Him through our “Special Projects Offering.” This offering will greatly help us continue to be the light He wants
us to be in our community!
Beginning today, we are revising our Prayer Concerns to make them more current. If you have a loved one or friends that needs our prayers, please fill out one of the prayer concerns cards and drop it in the offering plate, or call the church office.
