Phoenix Poster Analysis
A simple but effective design that clearly tells
us who the group/ band is (in this case it is
Phoenix’) and uses basic imagery in an
effective way. Plane grey background
deliberately used to emphasis the details of
the poster making them standout; features
such as the title take advantage of this well.
Bold Font in white used to standout against
the grey back grown emphasising the key part
of the poster, the group/ bands name. The
band wanted to connect to ‘something sweet’
(Same as the title to one of their songs), so to
relate to it they have used an image of a
peach, a sweet fruit. The key information is
again in a bold white font purposely done to
be noticeable but so over powering that is
draws the eye away from the image or the
title. Record labels placed at the bottom of the
poster, purposely made small but in white so it
still stands out but not to the extent that is
distracting form the rest of the poster; the
posters purpose is to advertise the Band not
the recording company. Placed at the very
bottom of the poster, almost off the page, are
the sponsors of the band and tour.
