Switching a User to Advanced UM (Voicemail and Fax to email)
Log into the NuPoint Unified Messenger server https://nupoint.redw.local/npm-admin/showLoginPage.
Go to Mailbox Maintenance Mailboxes On the Search Tab enter the user’s main phone extension Select the Search button Select the box to the left of the user’s extension # Select the Edit button

Select the Class of Service tab Change the Feature from 10 – VIP to 12 – UM Fax & VM
Select the General tab Enter the user’s network user name into the “Advanced UM Email Username” field (the user
name must match the alias located on the Exchange server. For example, if the alias is jgarrett then the user name cannot be entered as JGarrett on the Nupoint Server)
Enter the user’s network password into the “Advanced UM Email Password” field Select the Save button

You should receive a message indicating that the update was successful for the user’s mailbox. Select Done
On the main Mailboxes page enter the last 4 digits of the user’s fax number
Select Advanced

On the Class of Service Tab change Feature from 19 - FAX ONLY to 13 – UM FAX>FCOS 12 Select the Save button

Select Done on the Update Mailbox status screen
On the left-hand side select the UM User Licensing option

Select the Update UM User Licensing button
Select OK to continue
Select OK once the licensing update has completed
Open the Employee Phone Extension.xls spreadsheet located in the S:\REDW Tech folder. Select the FCOS Setup worksheet. Change both the user’s Primary Mailbox and Fax Mailbox FCOS settings from 10 to 12, and 19 to
13 respectively. Save the worksheet changes.
