Part 1 NEW YORK CITY

Central Park, nyApt: 1/500f-stop: 8iso: 200

When you mix foreign environment and a meltingpot of interesting people it creates an unfamiliar culture. This culture gives rise to something special, and for a moment in time you can capture it with a click of your finger. During the moments when you are out of your element and faced with new surroundings is when your creativity is truly free. Every time i have been fortunate enough to travel, visit a big city, and experience these moments I have learned or thought of something in a different way. On this trip to New York i was constantly finding myself intrigued but the art, people, and grandness of the worlds biggest urban playground. I found throughout this semester that Photography is truly in the eye of the beholder, and I hope you enjoy what my eye beheld. Thank you

This is what barthes refers to as stadium. When seeing this homeless man on the side of the street I was initially caught off

guard by his rare since of style. As I watched women walk by with FAT purses I saw this moment that I see everyday while walking

the streets of seattle. For some reason I cant help but feel sad.

I have enjoyed messing around with color in my photography this semester. to me this photo represents the vibrancy of nature clashed with the concrete of the city. This was taken in central park, NY and was a moment of pure relaxation in the middle of this enormous place. i really love this angle, because it gives me this relaxing feeling of laying down in grass on a sunny day. Both of these shots were edited in post. (1/320_f11_ISO 200)

Part 2 SEATTLE

this was taken recenly from my Iphone. It amazes me how technology is shaping photography. This was taken during a sunset this winter. I took this photograph because I wanted to frame a shot differently then usual. This is why the clouds and sky take up about 75 percent of the photo. (ISO: 800 Apt: 3.5

Shot in seattle washington at the peir. This shot was and because of the way the window reflected made it seem as if these two photos were double exposed. I think the buildings allow context as to where this photo was taken.

(Apt: 1/100 F-stop: 5 ISO:250)

This photo is a great example of pattern. It also shows how a simple image can be enhanced when creating a natural pattern. this photo was taken at pike place market and i

tweaked with the editing to give it more of a film effect. (Apt: 1/30 F-stop: 3.5 ISO:500)

This was taken on the docks next to downtown seattle. I chose this photo because it was one of the first that i started messing with pulling color. I love the way the blue looks against this gray color pallet. I also like what the fisheye does for this shot.

(Apt: 1/250 F-stop: 8 ISO: 200)

Photo taken in west seattle. I was drawn to the clouds and the time of day. this photo is in black and white, but in color you could tell that it was dusk. This is why you can see a few lights on in the

building. It gives this photo a sort of creepy feel. (Apt: 1/30 F-stop: 3.5 ISO: 640)

Part 3 THE DUNES

This was from the oregon coast at pacific beach. It was where I grew up and is always full of crazy things to take pictures of. the One to the right is my personal favorite. This image is appealing to me because I love how you can see where water has worn away at this rock for years and years. It looks like a gigantic scenery shot and close up at the same time. It leaves you confused and that is not what I was going for but thats the beauty of photography. (apt: ISO: f-stop: )
