photography proposal

In this piece of writing is my proposal for my Unit 57 Photography photographs. My aims and aspiration for my photographs is to create a story/theme or mood between the audience and the photo. The types of photographs I will be capturing and editing to professional standards are urban landscape and portrait. The end results of my photographs will be posted on my blog and then presented at an exhibition in college. Firstly I will begin with urban landscape photography. When I will be capturing my urban landscape photographs, I am planning on going to Stockport to capture these images. This is because I feel that Stockport has a lot of background. It has been modernised but it also still has the olden back streets which I think will create a nice contrast. My aim for my urban landscape photographs is to make my audience feel a story or mood from just viewing my image. I feel as though creating a connection with the audience will make the photograph more successful. Personally, I think having a mixture of both old and new will make people personally relate the photos. For example, if older people were viewing my finished photographs they would remember how Stockport looked when they were younger. Whereas now, the new generation will only remember Stockport for what it looks like now. Another reason I chosen to go to Stockport to capture my photographs is because I feel as though I wanted my images to be simple but powerful in their own way. I feel if I chosen to go to Manchester City Centre, I wouldn’t get the best results as it is a lot busier and which would be a challenge to get the images I wanted to capture. When I go out to capture my photographs I will need equipment. The most important equipment I will need to take is a camera, as this will help me get the best quality photographs possible. The camera I will be using is a Canon 700D, these are the cameras supplied by my college. I will also prepare myself with a spare battery, incase the one I was using ran out. Another piece of equipment I will be taking is a tripod. This is incase I wanted to capture images with a slow shutter speed, this

This is incase I wanted to capture images with a slow shutter speed, this is so I would get the best possible result. I will be capturing most photographs free hand so I can be more relaxed and play around with shots.

Secondly I will next discuss my aims for my portrait photography. In my portrait photographs, I want my viewer to feel an emotion or mood from photographs. I want my model to look strong and use their body posture, language and facial expressions well to help me get the best result I can. I will be choosing my cousin to be my model as I feel like she would help me achieve the best results, due to her being confident. I will be capturing my portrait photographs in the college studio. This is because I want a nice plain and natural background to work with when editing my photographs. I also want a plain background as I want all the attention to be on my model and the attention being grabbed by the facial expressions, body posture and language, that my model will present. I will be asking my model to do their makeup with bright but also subtle pinks and purples as I think I could work well with these colours when I come to edit them.

When I capturing these photographs I will need similar equipment to what I will be using to capture my urban landscape photographs.
