Objectives
Identify and define concepts of physical fitness.
List the health problems associated with inadequate levels of health-related fitness.
Identify the anatomy and the functions of the muscular, skeletal and cardiovascular systems.
Aerobic- Dependent on the presence of oxygen. Anaerobic- Occurring in the absence of oxygen. Metabolism- The sum of all the vital processes by which food energy and nutrients are made available
to and used by the body. Target heart rate- The heart rate that should be reached and maintained during cardio respiratory
endurance exercise to obtain the training effects. Warm-up- Gradually progressing body from rest to activity. Cool down- Gradually progressing body from activity to rest. F.I.T.T.- Frequency, Intensity, Type, Time. Physical fitness- A set of physical attributes that allow the body to respond or adapt to the demands
and stress of physical effort. Health-related fitness components-Physical capacities that contribute to health: cardio respiratory
endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Skills-related fitness components-Physical capacities that contribute to performance in a sport or
activity: speed, power, agility, balance, coordination, or reaction time.
Cardiovascular SystemCirculates blood through body
Muscular SystemMoves the body
Skeletal SystemSupports the body
