Over the Edge w/ Jinjoo ChoExperience the Greensboro Symphony’s climactic season finale, as Dmitry Sitkovetsky leads the GSO in the final Tanger Outlets Masterworks performance of the 2014-2015 season! Over the Edge will be performed on May 14, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. and May 16, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at Aycock Auditorium. The Symphony’s dramatic conclusion will explore composers who strayed from the mainstream and stirred up controversy and outrage, such as Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and Stravinksy’s The Rite of Spring. This concert will also feature the winner of the 2014 Indianapolis International Violin Competition, Jinjoo Cho, who will perform Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor. Jinjoo Cho, 26, the first place winner of the 2014 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, has established herself as a leading violinist of her generation and is noted for her vibrant musical personality, warm and engaging tone and sensual phrasing. Montreal’s Times Argus praises her “undeniable charisma and depth…with an intense lyricism and heartfelt tenderness that sent shivers up the spine.”

Home Furnishing and DecorArt and Décor Shop “Just Be” Celebrates 10th Anniversary with the PublicBy Brian WatkinsLocal home décor, jewelry, DIY, and art shop Just Be celebrates its 10th anniversary May 16 from 12pm to 5pm in Greensboro. As an avid supporter of the art community for the last decade, this event will feature the works of over 50 local artists. Food and drink will also be available. Best yet, it’s open to the public and free for anyone to stop by.The event is sure to be a nice immersion for fellow artists and art appreciators

alike. And it won’t just be inside – Just Be is extending the fun to the street. The area near the corner of McGee and Elm will be closed for the celebration, allowing space for two local bands to perform throughout the day. Visitors can also explore demonstrations by local artists, including the Center of Visual Artists. The Center for Visual Artists is a non-profit organization focused on supporting emerging artists and using community outreach to introduce those of the Triad to great local talent. This also includes art classes, parties, and summer camps, making it a clear complement to Just Be and its celebration of eclectic charm.If you’re planning to hang out for the afternoon, you’ll be pleased to know that there will be food available courtesy of Burrito Bandito for purchase. Alamance County’s Iron Gate Winery will also be
