With the dust nally settling around thenations economic crisis, baby boomers aretaking stock to see if their retirement plansneed revising.
There are many ways to adjust to todayseconomic uncertainty: from working longerto changing investment strategies or livingsituations.
The shocking news for many is that someof their safety nets may no longer be viable.
Declining real estate values mean manycant turn to homes for money. Tumult in -nancial markets resulted in declines in 401Kplans. And some experts say Social Securitymay not be there when needed most by the
baby boom generation. For the second consecutive year, Social
Security benets didnt rise, something which hasnt happened in over 75 years.Whats worse is, beginning in 2016, payrolltax revenue will be insufcient to pay fullSocial Security benets, according to Allen
W. Smith, a retired economics professorand author of the new book, The Looting ofSocial Security.
A pledge in the 1980s to only spend So-
cial Security funds on benets was broken by every presidential administration since.Money earmarked for seniors was divertedinto the governments general fund andused for whatever politicians chose to spendit on, says Smith, whose high school text-
book on economics was used by 600 schoolsnationwide.
Approximately $2.6 trillion of SocialSecurity revenue that was supposed to besaved and invested for paying benets to
baby boomers, was instead spent for otherthings and replaced with non-marketablegovernment IOUs, he stresses. Accordingto Smith, these IOUs represent only a claimagainst future government revenue. They
have no monetary value, until and unless
the government raises the money througfuture tax increases or borrowing to repathe missing money.
Against this backdrop, many are alterinretirement plans:
Keep WorkingSome seniors are now planning to sta
on the job longer. Many who are physicall
able to work longer are postponing retire-
ment until the future becomes clearer, be-cause they know that once they retire, themay be unable to re-enter the workforcegiven todays high unemployment.
New PrioritiesMany are shifting investment plans to
ensure the money they need within vyears of retirement is safe in low-risk invest-ments, like xed-income funds. This cahelp them endure short-term market drops
while the money they need later grows imore aggressive investments.
Belt Tightening
Many who are approaching retiremenage are cutting back on spending and put-ting more into savings, in case their SociaSecurity benets get cut. Practicing auster-ity, and wisely investing the money that issaved, is one of the most viable options foseniors.
With Social Security benets accountinfor nearly 40 percent of average income foretirees over 65, Smith is advising seniors toexercise caution in their nancial decisionsPurchases that can be delayed probablshould be delayed, and for those still in goodhealth, working a little longer than plannedcould make a big difference in quality of life
when they do retire. For more on the SociaSecurity crisis, read The Looting of Socia
Security.

WE BUY USED SNOWMOBILESBach Flowers The Amazing Healing Properties of Flowers
Edward Bach (1886-1936) was a Physician. In 1930, at the age of 43, he was frustrated with traditional medicine inEngland, and he decided to search for a new healing technique. He spent the spring and summer discovering and preparingflower remedies - which include no part of the plant but simply what Bach claimed to be the pattern of energy of the flower. In the winter he treated patients free of charge.
Rather than being based on medical research, using the scientific method, Bachs flower remedies were intuitively derivedand based on his perceived energetic connections to the plants. If he felt a negative emotion, he would hold his handover different plants, and if one alleviated the emotion, he would ascribe the power to heal that emotional problem tothat plant. He would then research that conclusion with patients to see if he was correct. He believed that early morningsunlight passing through dew-drops on flower petals transferred the healing power of the flower onto the water, so hewould collect the dew drops from the plants. Later, he found that the amount of dew he could collect was not sufficient,so he would suspend the flowers in spring water and allow the suns rays to pass through them. Today these remedies aremade by placing plant parts (usually the flowers) in alcohol, in the sunlight for two weeks, then straining off the solids andusing that tincture to make the remedies by diluting them with spring water.
Rather than recognizing the role of germ theory of disease, defective organs, genetic, and other known sources ofdisease, Bach thought of illness as the result of a contradiction between the purposes of the soul and the personalityspoint of view. This internal war, according to Bach, leads to negative moods and energy blocking, which causes a lack of
harmony, thus leading to physical diseases.Since his practices did not follow any scientific protocol, and his methods were not well understood, they were never
accepted by the established medical community. In his book Heal Thyself he wrote:
Disease will never be cured or eradicated by present materialistic methods, for the simple reason that disease in its originis not material . . . Disease is in essence the result of conflict between the Soul and Mind and willnever be eradicated except by spiritual and mental effort.
Although the mechanism of their action is not well understood, these remedies are highly effective for mental / emotional difficulties like anxiety, depression, worry, mental chatter, and many more. They are safe and can be taken with any other medicine. They have no side effects. They either helpwith the problem or nothing happens.
These remedies will not fix an infected gall bladder, but they might help deal with the anger andbitterness that is one of the underlying causes of gall bladder disease, thereby fixing it long before itbecomes a physical, pathologic disease.
So if you have resentment, anger, jealousy, worry, hate, or other negative emotions these BachFlower remedies may be helpful.
