8. NEW W14x74 WALER (MIDDLE & BOTTOM) INSTALLATION AT (4) LOCATIONS AT THE CORNER OF CENTRAL LOADING PLATFORM WILL BE BOLTED TO THE BACK OF
EXISTING HP 14x89 PILING. USE WIRE BRUSH AND GRINDING WHEEL TO REMOVE EXISTING RUST AND DETRITUS FROM HP 14X89 PILING. PAINT AND PRIME ALL
EXPOSED AREAS OF HP 14X89 PILING FROM ELEV. -8.0' TO +5.5' WITH ALOCIT AND +5.5' TO +12.0' WITH COAL TAR EPOXY. (SEE DETAIL 1 ON THIS SHT. FOR

10. LIFT REMAINING TIRES (FENDERS) TO BOTTOM OF NEWLY PLACED BOTTOM WALER FOR INSTALLATION OF TIRE STOP. PLACE AT SAME ELEVATION AS EXISTING TIRE
STOP THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY REMOVED.
11. REPEAT SEQUENCE OF WORK FOR ENSUING SETS OF BENT STRUCTURES AND BREASTING CELLS. (2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, 8-BREASTING CELL NO.3, BREASTING
CELL NO.3-BENT 9, 9-0, 10-CENTRAL LOADING PLATFORM, CENTRAL LOADING PLATFORM-BENT 11, 11-12, 12-BREASTING CELL NO.2, BREASTING CELL NO.2-BENT 13,
13-14, 14-15, 15-16, 16-17, 17-18, 18-19, 19-BREASTING CELL NO.1). THIS IS TO BE DONE ON WEST AND EAST SIDE OF BULK TERMINAL.
12. FOLLOW SAME PROCEDURE FOR REHABILITATION OF BARGE STOPS 1A, 1B, AND 2.
13. REMOVE AND INSTALL (3) NEW TOP W14x74 WALERS AT DESIGNATED LOCATIONS WHERE EXISTING WALERS WERE DAMAGED. NEW WELDS SHALL BE BETWEEN
"CLEAN" STEEL. (SEE SHT. S-3.0 FOR LOCATIONS OF (3) NEW TOP W14x74 WALERS).
STRUCTURAL NOTES:
1. FIELD VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY ENGINEER OF ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN PLANS AND FIELD
CONDITIONS. IF NECESSARY, ENGINEER SHALL RE-INSPECT ALL EXISTING STRUCTURAL
MEMBERS AND CONNECTIONS PRIOR TO CONTRACTOR MAKING ANY NEW STRUCTURAL

2. PAINT AND PRIME ALL EXPOSED AREAS OF 36"Ø LIGHT POLE PILE FROM ELEV. -8.0' TO +5.5' WITH
ALOCIT AND +5.5' TO +12.0' WITH CTE.
SCOPE AND SEQUENCE OF WORK OVER BENT 1 PIPE PILE THROUGH BENT 19 PIPE PILE:
1. CUT AND REMOVE EXISTING TYPE I PIPE BOLLARDS FROM THE TOP OF BENT PILINGS (TYPE A, B, C).
2. USE WIRE BRUSH AND GRINDING WHEEL TO REMOVE EXISTING RUST AND DETRITUS FROM POINTS OF
ATTACHMENT AT BENT PILES.
3. WELD NEW TYPE I PIPE BOLLARD (GALV.) AT SAME LOCATION AS EXISTING BOLLARD ONTO EXISTING TOP
W36 FLANGE . NEW WELDS SHALL BE BETWEEN "CLEAN" STEEL.
STRUCTURAL NOTES:
1. FIELD VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY ENGINEER OF ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN PLANS AND FIELD

SCOPE AND SEQUENCE OF WORK OVER CENTRAL LOADING PLATFORM ( WOODEN TIMBERS):
1. REMOVE EXISTING 12"x10" ROUGH TIMBERS AND 18" WOOD FILLERS THAT ARE DAMAGED ON EAST AND
WEST SIDE OF CENTRAL LOADING PLATFORM.
2. REMOVE EXISTING 1"Ø GALVANIZED CARRIAGE BOLTS THAT ARE RUSTED OR DAMAGED ON EAST AND
WEST SIDE OF CENTRAL LOADING PLATFORM.
3. INSTALL NEW 12"x10" TIMBERS AND 18" WOOD FILLERS AT SAME LOCATION AND ELEVATION WHERE
DAMAGED AND/OR MISSING TIMBERS WERE LOCATED PREVIOUSLY WITH NEW 1"Ø GALVANIZED CARRIAGE
BOLTS.
4. ALL TIMBERS, FILLERS AND CARRIAGE BOLTS WILL BE REPLACED FROM ELEVATION -1.0' TO +3.33'

STRUCTURAL NOTES:
1. FIELD VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY ENGINEER OF ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN PLANS AND FIELD
CONDITIONS. IF NECESSARY, ENGINEER SHALL RE-INSPECT ALL EXISTING STRUCTURAL
MEMBERS AND CONNECTIONS PRIOR TO CONTRACTOR MAKING ANY NEW STRUCTURAL
MODIFICATIONS.
3. ALL STRUCTURAL STEEL SHALL BE ASTM A-36, Fy = 36 ksi (MIN.)
4. ALL WELDING SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AWS AND SHALL BE PERFORMED
BY AWS CERTIFIED WELDERS USING E70XX RODS.
5. ALL WELDS SHALL BE INSPECTED BY AWS CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTORS.
6. EXPOSED STEELSURFACES SHALL BE PAINTED WITH ALOCIT 28.15 OR COAL TAR EPOXY (CTE).
7. ALL ELEVATIONS REFER TO NGVD 88 VERTICAL DATUM.
