Planning & Research Music Video

Page 2: Plan

Possible song choices:(Mostly slow R&B songs)

• Britney Spears – Everytime• Rihanna – California King Bed• Rihanna – Russian Roulette• Beyonce – Irreplaceable • Jo Jo – Too Little To Late• Ed Sheeran – Kiss Me

Page 3: Plan

I plan to follow a narrative music video as this can express the lyrics of the song and it can

create an entertaining video to draw in and keep the audience’s attention.

The shots will consist of both studio and location settings.

Narrative

From my possible song choices, I have a rough idea of the storyline of my music video. It is likely to be based on a relationship, with moments of pain

and happiness.

I will focus it on one side of the relationship – most likely to be the female’s perspective as stereotypically, that is where it is more dramatic, creating a

more interesting plot.

(Alike to ‘Katy Perry – Thinking of You’ video)

Location Ideas

A house/home:Verisimilitude, people can relate to being in a house creating more empathy.

An isolated area:Such as a park late at night, empty field, alley way, spacious places, connotes emptiness.

Studio:To do performance shots .

Public Area:Yet again, sense of verisimilitude – for example, a high street, in a store, supermarket.

Sporting venues/ Schools:Gives an idea of the personality and hobbies of the people involved in the video.

Conventions

Clothing:Bright clothes to symbolise that they are happy & dull clothes to connote that they are sad, possibly dealing with a break-up. If it is a male artist,
