I have decided to make a short news article aboutReading festival 2011. It will feature clips from thefestival that will be taken from the BBC who will be

broadcasting it during the summer, I will mention thatI took the footage from them and it is not my ownfootage. I may go round and interview people that

went to the festival and have their opinion and how

the experience was for them and if they wouldrecommend it for other people who havent been. Mygenre is news, but the style will be similar to the BBC

with people in formal suits and sitting at desks.

The target audience will be for the younger generations, roughlyage groups between the ages of 16-25. The psychographics of mytarget audience will be younger generations who will be

interested in the bands that will be playing at Reading and willwant to watch their performances. The social grades of my targetaudience will be a D. C2 and C1 class This is the most commonage groups that visit music festivals during the summer. Also Imay aim it as well at the older generations, maybe the parents sothey can see what the festival is like as their children may be atthe festival. The intended aim of my news story is to update allthe viewers that didnt manage to get tickets to the festival sothey can get updates on how it went. My story will represent in aprofessional manner, as if it was an actual news story for the BBCor Sky News. The budget for my news story shouldnt be too

expensive as I will be using clips taken from the BBC and I will bedoing all my filming against a green screen, the budget will bearound 3000 for the cameras and equipment that I will be usingto film.

The genre of my news story is going to be public interest,I want the audience to be drawn in and to be intriguedand want to learn about the festival and know whats

going on and who is playing and when the headlineacts are on. The line up can sometimes be very difficultto read and understand so I will tell the audience whois playing and when they are playing.

The target audience are people aged 16-25 because this is theyoung generations who will be most likely heading to thefestival. I will try and get people of the same age group to

watch and get updates of the festival through my newsstory. My research process has been looking on the Reading

website and getting all the new updates about the festivaland getting updates via Facebook from the reading festivalFacebook page. Some of my interview questions will be:

y How do you think the festival is going?y Who has been your favourite performance?y Would you recommend this festival to friends next year?

My research so far has been talking to people that wentto the festival last year and visiting the ReadingFestival website and their Facebook page. These have

been my primary sources as I have directly spoken tothese people. Some secondary sources have beenreviews will be from people who went to the festivallast year and see what their opinions were on the wholeexperience. Also I will get reviews from the internetand see what people from other countries who mayhave gone to the festival and compare it to festivalsfrom other countries.

When filming my story I will have to consider the legal and ethicsof my story, where I film and when I film. I have to make surethat what I am doing is legal, so for example I wont be able totrespass onto someones property to get some information that isrelevant to my story as it is breaking the law and unprofessional.

If I film in public I will have to make sure I maintain aprofessional standard as I am representing myself and theschool. If I want to film in a location off school I will have tomake sure that I have permission to do so, that is what locationrelease forms are for. And if people dont want me to film in acertain location I will have to make sure that I respect the privacy

and not film in that location. I wont be using my own footage ofthe festival but I will make sure that I wont be copywriting andmention that all footage of the festival performances will betaken from secondary sources.

With my production work I will include roles to peoplethat will help me with my filming. To keep track of mytime and make the best use of it I will create a

schedule to follow, Im going to create some locationreccies to show where I will be filming to give me anidea of where I want to film. I will make a budget onhow much my work will roughly cost. Finally I willmake a risk assessment and list all the risks of whatcould happen when filming and come up with ways toget round the risks when filming.
