As always, we appreciate the partnership!! We understand this was the first week and much like if we were in the building the students received a lot of logistics and directives to properly set the table for a successful 1st quarter of remote learning. Teachers have robust plans to incorporate small group work, small group assessing, and continued differentiated learning as move into week two and beyond. We are very excited for curriculum nights this coming week to help give parents a snapshot into your child's school day. The details for Curriculum Night 2020 are below. Please know all sessions will be recorded in case you are unable attend. The teachers/staff are looking forward to showing parents the breakdown of our grade levels and provide insight into the curriculum. Below is the Curriculum Night 2020 schedule, you will find buttons with all of the school's curriculum maps to access before the sessions. At the bottom of the newsletter you will find the Chicago Public Schools mandatory FIIF ( Family Income Information Form) with directions as well Student Fee E-Pay option. *Please feel free to use your child's account/device to access Curriculum Night sessions.

My name is Mrs. Deanna Kelly and I am the artteacher at Sauganash School. I love Chicago andhave lived here all my life. I love teaching art to allstudents at Sauganash from grades K through 8.This is such a unique opportunity for me to watchthem grow up, and to see their artunderstandings develop as they go along. I havean undergrad specializaon in K – 8 art and aMaster’s Degree in math. I really enjoy theart/math connecon and when I teach art, I helpthe children understand, visualize and use themathemacal underpinnings of the drawings anddesigns we create. This puts the “A” into STEM,making it STEAM!

I have a family with three grown-up children and a big Goldendoodle dognamed Woody. I do photography as a hobby, and especially love flying mydrone. I also enjoy doing colorful acrylic painngs on canvas. I’m verygrateful to be at Sauganash so I can help children learn how to draw, design and express themselves through the discipline of art.
