This term our topic is The story of St David On Thursday we were visited by author and illustrator Thyra Heder from New York. She read 2 of her lovely stories, and also gave the pupils a masterclass in creating book covers. Year 1 Blwyddyn Un Mrs Hayman's Class This Week’s Newsletter 15th March 2019 This week in Literacy we have been identifying beginning, middle and end sounds in words, using sound buttons. In Numeracy we have been measuring the capacity of our laboratory test tubes, and finding missing numbers in number sentences. In topic we have had a Science focus this week. The pupils have been investigating if pine cones know that it is raining, how big a raindrop is, the properties of different materials, how far vehicles travel down ramps, and making weather trees to record the daily weather conditions. They have also been making sketches of pine cones.
