3.3 Operating the Laser ImagerKonica Minolta M&G Printlink III-ID/IV can be connected to the Konica Minolta

M&G Laser Imager DRYPRO Series. The above laser imagers can be operated from Konica Minolta M&G Printlink

III-ID/IV, however, some laser imager operations must be performed from the laser

    imager or imager.

This section describes how to operate the imager for daily usage.

3.3.1 Turning the power ONWhen the power of the imager connected to Printlink III-ID/IV is not ON, the

message "IMAGER not ready" will appear when the STATUS screen (see "4.4STATUS Screen") is displayed in the Printlink III-ID/IV controller.

When this message appears, turn ON the imager according to the instruction in the

    imager's Operatoin Manual.

ReferenceImages can be stored or printed even while the message "IMAGER not

ready" is displayed. An image stored during this time is memorized in Printlink III-ID/IV andprinted after the imager power is turned ON.

If the status does not change after the imager goes ON, display the STATUS screen

(see "4.4 STATUS Screen") in the Printlink III-ID/IV imager and touch the [ERROR

RESET] button. The message "IMAGER not ready" will disappear and the errorstatus will be released.

3.3.2 Loading supply filmWhen film becomes empty in the currently used imager, the message "Film empty

XXxXX YYY" (XXxXX = film size / YYY = film type) will appear when theSTATUS screen (see "4.4 STATUS Screen") is displayed in the Printlink III-ID/IVcontroller.

When this message appears, refer to the Operatoin Manual for the imager and load

    films in the imager.

Reset the error on the imager side when the films are loaded. The error can be resetby displaying the STATUS screen (see "4.4 STATUS Screen") in the Printlink

III-ID/IV controller and touching the [ERROR RESET] button.

When the error is reset, the message "Film empty XXxXX YYY" will disappear andthe error status will be cleared.

3.9.1 Image formatsAn image format refers to the pattern for allocating stored images on a film.

    (1) Available image formatsThe same image format as in the connected imager can be used for Printlink

III-ID/IV. The format that can be used depends on the connected imager, image datasize, and film size.

For details, refer to the Operation Manual of the connected imager.

    (2) Indications of image formatsThe image format is indicated as 3 x 4, 9/2, etc.The following are the meanings of the above two indications.

    34 : 3 horizontal frames x 4 vertical frames = 12 frames

9/2 : Mixed-size format with 9 frames on the top row and 2 on the bottom
