OriginPro 7.5 FFT analyze using the

histogram values of an X-ray CT scan

With histogram values, the FFT computes the Fourier Transform displaying the angle or the signal power

as a function of frequency A Gaussian fitting function is the best-fit model for angle data plot. The fit curve was plotted as a red line through the data plot.

Profile Plot and Profile Contour Plot of an X-ray CT brain scan

• Profile Plot displays a two-dimensional graph of the intensities of pixels along a line (x-axis or y axis).

• Contour Plot is useful for delineating organ boundaries in images. The X-ray CT image of the abnormal brain can also be plotted using a graph template that includes X and Y projections. While the X-ray CT scan show a tumor located at (x = 389.8 and y = 925.0), the Contour Plot (Fig. 2.b.) reveals additionally data about other brain tissue damages in both hemispheres.

Icon Plots represent individual units of observation as particular graphical objects where values of variables are distributed to specific features or dimensions of the objects. The values of variables in circular icon plots format (Polygon Icons) are represented by distances between the center (hub) of the icon and its edges. Icon plots were used in order to find systematic patterns or clusters of observations and to explore possible complex relations between several variables

The Pie Charts are useful for representing proportion or values of variables, displaying either raw values or counts of specific values. The histogram values of the variable are represented as the ’’wedges’’ of the pie. The Counts Pie Chart (Frequency Pie Chart) classifies all values of the selected variable by displaying the relative frequencies as pie slices of proportional sizes (a,b). The Values Pie Chart (Data Pie Chart) interprets the data so that the sequence of values from the selected variable to be represented by consecutive slices of the pie and the size of each slice to be proportional with the respective value (c,d).

• The 3D Sequential Graphs are unique subset of 3D graphs showing representations of multiple sequences of values and /or their variability.

• The Surface Plot fits a spline-smoothed surface to each data point (a). • The Contour Plot represents a 2D projection of the spline-smoothed surface fit to the data, where successive values of each

series are plotted along x-axis and each successive series are represented along the y-axis (b).
