FAA-PMA AIRCRAFT APPLICABILITY
1. TotalInternalReflectionlensutilizesahighperformancemulti-stageopticalsystem, consisting of primary and secondary optics that efficiently re-distributelightuniformlyacrosstheentirebeampattern.
2. Built in thermalprotectionpreventsdamageoraccelerateddegradation totheLEDduringextremehightemperatureoperation.TheunitcontinuouslymonitorsthetemperatureoftheLEDandwilldecreasepowerconsumptionduring a high temperature event protecting the LED. Normal powerconsumptionwillresumeoncethehightemperatureconditionelapses.
3. IntelligentActiveAnti-Icing,designedintotheAlphabeampreventsicebuildupontheglasslenscoverduringallflightandtaxiwhereicingispresent.Theunitcontinuouslymonitors the temperatureof theglassandactivatesan optically clear resistive heating element built-in to the glass coverwhenoutsideairtemperatureachieves+5Candbelow.Duringtheheateroperation, theAlphabeamwill consume30-40additionalwatts. Once theheatercircuitcompletesitsanti-icecycle,theunitautomaticallyreturnstoitsnormalpowerrating.
