HISTORY
Elfor Controls, established in the late 1970’s, is an Italian company specialized in the engineering and manufacture of a complete range of valve actuators and related accessories. The Company was founded by experienced professionals who had worked for decades as senior managers within leading multinational companies in the valve automation market. They started by developing and manufacturing a short range of electric actuators for the increasing demand of valve automation in various industrial markets. From 2006 to 2014, the company underwent a radical renewal expanding the product range to include Scotch-Yoke & Linear in pneumatic & hydraulic configuration and also Rack and Pinion actuators and relevant control systems. Elfor Controls offers a profound knowledge and hands-on experience in the field, flexibility in a continuously changing market, problem-solving capabilities, customized products and services to meet Customer needs.

EFFICIENCY and RELIABLE SOLUTIONS
The ECT Series actuators are designed and manufactured to offer a high level of efficient and reliable performance with reduced repair requirements and increased actuator life. The permanently lubricated, sliding bearings combine with a low friction corrosion resistant coating ensure perfect operation of the internal components. The ECT Series actuators are suitable for high frequency, high speed operations in particular for modulating systems. They offer simple and economical maintenance due to simplified design, thus no special tools are required.

SAFETY
The ECT Series actuators are designed with an inherently safe spring return unit in the single acting configuration to avoid accidental release of spring force. The spring units are fully welded modules. The Nickel Plated, Carbon Steel cylinder and pistons are designed and manufactured using dynamic floating O-Ring seal and slide ring guide in order to reduce friction and to extend service life.
VERSATILITY
ECT Series actuators have been designed to ensure modular and customizable construction. ECT Series actuators can be installed and operated in any position. This allows flexibility for installation in confined locations or in retrofit applications.
WATERPROOF PROTECTION
Dynamic floating O-Ring sealing provides protection certified to IEC IP67 as a minimum.
CORROSION RESISTANCE
Extended service life is provided by carbon steel construction, dynamic floating O-Ring seals, electroless nickel plated cylinder.
1. PISTON GUIDE O-RING & SLIDE RING GUIDE installed in the appropriate housing seat in order to be compressed during assembly of the two parts, creating a sealing gasket. It is low friction and permanently lubricated, an ideal solution during modulating control.
2. O-RING ON PISTON AND LOCKING FERRULE a static seal to prevent leakage / bypass in the pressure cylinder.
3. EXTERNAL TIE ROD for pressure cylinder, with eye bolts to lift actuator.
4. O-RING ON CYLINDER HEADS for static sealing.
5. SELF-LUBRICATING SINTERED BRONZE BUSH AND CHROME BAR STEM allows high levels of performance, high operating speed and component wear resistance. An O-ring is fixed on the cylinder prevent working fluid’s leakage.
6. CYLINDER is machined to the highest tolerances and has a lapped finish in order to guarantee the piston O-ring sealing and a fluid motion. Surface finish treatment allows protection against aggressive corrosion. (All Actuators are certified to work with air or natural gas).
7. WELDED SPRING PACKAGE is maintenance free. Solutions include single or multiple coaxial springs based on thrust and stroke requirements.
8. MANUAL OVERRIDE SYSTEM to enable the movement of the single / double acting actuator in case of loss of operating medium.
9. DOUBLE ACTING - SINGLE ACTING models available.
10. SINGLE / DOUBLE / TRIPLE PISTON CONFIGURATION piston configurations available.
11. AVAILABLE STROKE from 10 to 1000mm (alternatives available upon request).
12. MANUAL OVERRIDE HANDWHEEL with low resistance
NOTES
Adequate lubrication is included during the assembly in order to reduce the frictional heating generated by cylinder parts motion. Standard O-ring material is NITRILE BUTADIENE (NBR); different compounds are available depending on the operating temperatures involved, fluids compatibility and client specification.STAINLESS STEEL ACTUATORS in GRADE 316 are available upon request based on application.

MODULAR DESIGN AND VERSATILITY
ELFOR CONTROLS ECT SERIES PNEUMATIC ACTUATORS are characterized by their engineering design and efficient modular assembly. The modules are designed for simple disassembly which allows the actuator to be quickly and easily converted from a double acting to a single acting configuration, or for the addition of optional devices such as a manual override units.
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE RANGE
Standard: -30 to 100°C (-22 to 212°F)
High: -20 to 160°C (-4 to 320°F)
Low: -40 to 100°C (-40 to 212°F)
Very Low: -60 to 160°C (-76 to 320°F)
Special requirements can be offered upon request.

OPERATING PRESSURES up to 10 barg (145psi) - design 12 barg (174 psi)
POWER SUPPLY MEDIUM is required to be a dry compressed AIR or NATURAL GAS according to ISO 8573-1:2010, mass concentration Class 6, Pressure dewpoint Class 3 or better, Concentration of total oil Class 3 or better.
ELFOR CONTROLS ECT series are designed to meet SIL 3 as a “single device”. Elfor Controls offers SIL features according to the IEC61508 and IEC61511 standards. Elfor Controls ECT series pneumatic actuators are certified SIL 3 without partial stroke system and SIL 3 with periodic proof testing system

OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES
PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION / INSULATION JACKETS
Elfor Controls can provide many types of Passive Fire Protection, in order to meet Customer requirements.
Passive fire protection systems are designed to insulate equipment, and will significantly delay internal temperature rise in the event of fire. They are simple to install, remove and reuse., the products line offers a simple and effective means to protect critical process control equipment. Products meet UL1709 requirements and follow the recommended standards of API.
Actuators insulation jackets are designed to insulate actuators and valves helping to improve energy efficiency.
They are commonly used to provide insulation against low temperatures (-60°C) and to protect personnel from burns by reducing the temperature of the exposed actuators surfaces.
