Greenwichparkassociation.weebly.com GPA President’s Message We started off the second half with an excellent September General membership meeting. Last month I discussed the issue with our Courville Containers. After my message, I drove throughout the GPA Neighborhoods, and still see containers left out well after garbage pick-up. So let me say, there is a One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) fine for Couville Containers left out after 9PM the day of garbage pick-up. Now I know I don’t have $100.00 to give to the City we’re already giving enough in taxes for the limited services received, so let’s keep your money in your pockets and bring in those containers! Mrs. Clover called me and we discussed the upcoming election process. After our conversation, I thought this would be an ideal message topic. So as your President and Precinct Delegate, I am dedicating this month’s message and General Membership Meeting to this upcoming November 8, 2016 election. Neighbors, I cannot express enough, how important you are at being actively involved in this election process. Lines may be long, this will depend on how interested we are at putting the right people in place to fight for our issues, and voting on the right proposals to address our concerns. If you want to avoid the long lines, call (313) 876-0190 to get an absentee or early voting ballot application mailed to your home. This will also give you time to study the issues and candidates before casting your ballot. I would never tell you who and/or how to cast your vote. As a registered voting citizen it is your Constitutional Right to choose; but there is one elected seat I must address. Judge Ruth Carter has resigned and therefore will not be seeking re- election to the 36 th District Court bench. Her decision to step down came after the ballots were printed. Therefore, her name will appear on the ballot. I ask that you Do Not vote for Ruth Carter for Judge, 36 th District Court; fore, if she receives enough votes to for 36 th District judgeship, this will allow Governor Rick Snyder the opportunity to appoint someone to that seat. We do not need another Snyder appointee, especially on the 36 th District Court Bench! At our October General Membership Meeting, I have scheduled representatives to discuss the Community Benefit Ordinances, the RTA and Attorney William Hunter will discuss Straight Ballot Voting. So it is incumbent on you to get up Saturday, October 15, come to your General Membership Meeting and educate yourself; then on November 8, take some folks with you to the polls and VOTE. Your vote is your voice. Finally, I express again, if you don’t attend Greenwich Park Association General Membership meetings, we cannot assist you in resolving problems or issues you may be experiencing, or hear your point of view. We are planning an Association outing/fundraiser at the Detroit Repertory Theater, and we need your input as to what play and date we will be attending. See you Saturday, October 15, 2016, 10AM, Greater Emmanuel Church, 19190 Schaefer at W. 7 Mile Rd. Roy McCalister, Jr. President, Greenwich Park Association

GPA President’s Message

We started off the second half with an excellent September General membership

meeting. Last month I discussed the issue with our Courville Containers. After my

message, I drove throughout the GPA Neighborhoods, and still see containers left out

well after garbage pick-up. So let me say, there is a One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) fine

for Couville Containers left out after 9PM the day of garbage pick-up. Now I know I don’t have

$100.00 to give to the City we’re already giving enough in taxes for the limited services received,

so let’s keep your money in your pockets and bring in those containers!

Mrs. Clover called me and we discussed the upcoming election process. After our conversation,

I thought this would be an ideal message topic. So as your President and Precinct Delegate, I am

dedicating this month’s message and General Membership Meeting to this upcoming November

8, 2016 election. Neighbors, I cannot express enough, how important you are at being actively

involved in this election process. Lines may be long, this will depend on how interested we are at

putting the right people in place to fight for our issues, and voting on the right proposals to

address our concerns. If you want to avoid the long lines, call (313) 876-0190 to get an absentee

or early voting ballot application mailed to your home. This will also give you time to study the

issues and candidates before casting your ballot. I would never tell you who and/or how to cast

your vote. As a registered voting citizen it is your Constitutional Right to choose; but there is one

elected seat I must address. Judge Ruth Carter has resigned and therefore will not be seeking re-

election to the 36th District Court bench. Her decision to step down came after the ballots were

printed. Therefore, her name will appear on the ballot. I ask that you Do Not vote for Ruth

Carter for Judge, 36th District Court; fore, if she receives enough votes to for 36th District

judgeship, this will allow Governor Rick Snyder the opportunity to appoint someone to that seat.

We do not need another Snyder appointee, especially on the 36th District Court Bench! At our

October General Membership Meeting, I have scheduled representatives to discuss the

Community Benefit Ordinances, the RTA and Attorney William Hunter will discuss Straight

Ballot Voting. So it is incumbent on you to get up Saturday, October 15, come to your General

Membership Meeting and educate yourself; then on November 8, take some folks with you to the

polls and VOTE. Your vote is your voice. Finally, I express again, if you don’t attend Greenwich

Park Association General Membership meetings, we cannot assist you in resolving problems or

issues you may be experiencing, or hear your point of view.

We are planning an Association outing/fundraiser at the Detroit Repertory

Theater, and we need your input as to what play and date we will be

attending.

See you Saturday, October 15, 2016, 10AM, Greater Emmanuel Church, 19190 Schaefer at W. 7 Mile Rd.
