PODAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL,
This story is something to ponder over… One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written: “The person who had been hindering your growth in this company passed away yesterday. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym”. In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself. The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. Everyone thought: “Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died!” One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul. There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could see himself. Question:
Why was there a mirror kept inside the coffin? Are we our own enemies to hinder our own progress?
The answer my dear friends, sadly, are yes. There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU. You are the only person who can revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself. Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your partner changes, when your company changes. Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life. “The most important relationship you can have is the one you have with yourself”. It is said “Be the change you want to see in the world”
The Independence Day and weeklong celebrations helped students relate to their own selves. They understood how limiting/confining one to boundaries may mar their performance. They were given an insight into the evils still prevalent in society. This helped in enhancing their boundaries beyond the self and towards the community and nation. The world is like a mirror: it gives back to anyone the refection of the thoughts in which one has strongly believed. The world and your reality are like mirrors lying in a coffin, which show to any individual the death of his divine capability to imagine and create his happiness and his success. It’s the way you face life that makes the difference.”

Action Club Skit – Child Labour Song – Kandhose milte

Are we really free?? Every member of PIS Ambegaon had this question on their lips, “Are we really free even as
we celebrate the 69th Independence Day?” The reason for this thought provoking question
was the skit presented by the students of the Afternoon shift where they emotionally
brought out the solutions to a grave problem like child labour.
The programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag at the hands of the Chief
Guest who was none other than the Principal of the School, Mrs Anagha Gholap. After the
National Anthem sung with a patriotic fervour by the teachers, parents and students of
the school a quiz show was presented by grade 10 for the audience along with the heart
rendering patriotic song from the movie ‘Lakshya’, sung by students of grade 9.
The audience was amazed at the display of unique skating skills presented on the song ‘Jai
Ho’, saluting the spirit of the martyrs who have laid down their life to safeguard our
freedom. The programme had a timely end with the vote of Thanks.
Surely this programme taught each one atleast one thing , “ Let us not take our freedom
for granted… Let us do our bit to make India a better place… Legacy to live and Legacy to
die for.”
The Celebration of Freedom
“Meet the Young India emerging with flying colours, Dynamic &
Versatile in every manner,
Let the world know we are with a bag.” This great quote was
practically proved by the students of PIS, Ambegaon with class wise
celebrations of the Independence Week which began on 17th August
and ended on 22nd August. All classes from grade 1 to grade 8 actively
participated in these activities.
The activities highlighted various aspects of Independence inculcating
feelings of gratitude, Empathy and appreciation for not only the
soldiers and martyrs but also the under privileged people of the
country through a variety of events ranging from songs, stories, games,
street plays, placard display, skits, etc.
The students were given the opportunity to empower themselves,
design solutions and come up with action plans against social issues such
as child labour, illiteracy, exploitation and so on.
Such events are eye openers for the students and make them feel
proud to be Indians against all odds.

“Let’s make this an Adventure kind of day”
The ‘Jumpstart Event’ launched the theme of ‘EXPLORERS AND ADVENTURERS –
Discovering the World.
The focus of the theme – ‘Explorers and Adventurers’ is to help the children learn
about how the achievements of explorers and adventurers impact the lives of
people all over the world. The contribution of several explorers has led to several
expansions, giving a spectrum of opportunities for people to get connected with one
another.
The activities for the ‘Takeoff Point’ were effective in immersing the students
into the process of exploring. Class wise activities were planned like ‘Find the
country’, ‘Tatoo making’, ‘Exploring sand’ ‘pirate coin game act’ and ‘talk likes
an explorer/adventurer’. Students enthusiastically and creatively participated and
felt “We are Adventures & Explorers, Inventors & Discoverers, Finders and Doers
of Great Things.”
