The 2012/13 programme at Château Ventenac includes courses with leading tutors:
"A Poet’s Vineyard" with Anne-Marie Fyfe - Let the autumn Languedoc sunshine vitalise and enrich this year's poetry harvest in one of Anne-Marie’s acclaimed workshops.
"Fiction for the Fearful" with Patrick Gale - Always wanted to write a novel but don’t know where to start? Patrick will help you find the courage to take up your pen.
"The Story of the Poem" with Sean O'Brien - Looking at the challenge of narrative, including how to orchestrate “telling” when “showing” is dominant and how to organise a sequence of poems.
"Poetry Workshops" with Fiona Sampson - This series of workshops with award-winning poet Fiona Sampson will enhance your creativity.
"Making Worlds" with Pascale Petit- How can you create your own fully sensed world? What can only you write about? This course will offer inspiration for new directions.
During the Spring and Autumn, we offer a range of
residential holiday courses including Poetry and Cre-
ative Writing. Courses are led by qualified and expe-
rienced teachers and are generally suitable for all
levels. Workshops, readings and individual tuition
will all be part of the experience.
These six day, all-inclusive residential courses are held in the stunning surroundings of Château Ventenac, near Carcassonne in the South of France.
Set in beautiful gardens on the banks of the Canal du
Midi, the Château enjoys fabulous views across vine-
yards to the Pyrenees. This haven of peace and tran-
quillity provides a relaxed and inspirational setting,
the perfect backdrop for our courses and retreats.
